Vampire Diaries Imagines (XReader+Damon <3)

A Phone Call

You stare at the map, still shocked.
What does it mean by victim? Is Stefan really gone, or was this just a warning? Maybe the victim wasn't referring to him. Either way you feel like you need to go see the ranch. Any answers would be better than none.

"Damon, are you okay?"

He was leaning over the map intently still looking at the words. Anger boiling inside him, and you start to worry that he might do something rash.

"Yeah, I'm cool as a cucumber."

Then he stops to listen to something you can't hear. You wonder if he's trying to avoid the subject, when a second later, two hybrids appear, and lunge at you.

Damon just stands calmly in front of you and rips both their hearts out, with his bare hands. Letting them drop to his sides.

Another hybrid, this one's bigger, appears. Damon smoothly grabs your dagger from your waist band, and takes it's head off.

Four more hybrids vamp speed over to you and one by one, Damon takes them down effortlessly.

After they're all dead, Damon looks at you. He is cover in blood, and waits for you to respond. He smirks, and you know he's going to tease you about how you needed protection later.

"Damon! Was that necessary?!"

Damon shrugs and crouches over the nearest hybrid.

"I tripped, and accidentally ripped this guy's heart out. It wasn't my fault he ran into my hand."

You shake your head.

"And this one decided to bleed all over my leather jacket, what a waste."

"Really? You kill a bunch of guys and your worried about your jacket?"

"Yeah, I'm the eternal stud, and without the jacket, I don't look the part. Plus, he was already dead. "

You know Damon can become merciless when he's angry, but that doesn't mean you agree with his lifestyle.

You close your eyes and breathe in. Trying to hold back laughter at his sarcasm. You decide to not say anything more on the subject. Time is precious.

"Let's go find your brother then, shall we?"

*RING RING*

You pull out your phone, and see that an unknown number is calling you. You answer it.

"Hello love. Miss me?"

"Klaus. What do you want?"

Damon's face goes back to seriousness as he listens to your call. His moment of anger passing. He listens intently.

"I want you to come to the shack just off of 49th and Boulevard right now, or I'm going to kill your parents while you listen."

"No! No, I'll be there. I prom-"

Damon takes the phone from you.

"No she won't. Why don't you stick it up yours, you manipulative, lying donkey! You don't have her parents. Admit it."

Damon doesn't know if they do or not. But he calls Klaus' bluff.

"You may be right, but if I don't get what I want, heads will be flying. And once I get through Bonnie, you can be sure I'll have a lot of pleasure taking Y/N's parents down."

You take the phone back and give Damon a look that could kill.

"You won't be taking them, I'm on my way."

"As long as I get what I want Y/N your parents can go back to their petty little lives. You've got two hours."

Damon turns away from you, and says nothing.

"We have to go Damon. My parents, Stefan, and Bonnie. We can't lose them."

You touch his arm and he whirls around to face you.

"I can't lose you. I just can't. You're running towards death Y/N, and I won't let you die."

You touch his face and under the surface you can see how vulnerable he is.

"You will be okay. Please let me make this choice for myself. I need to know that you're on my side. Will you do that for me?"

Tears fall down his face and he puts his arms on your waist. He half smiles.

"I would do anything for you. This is the hardest thing you've ever asked me, but I'll let you go. Just promise me that you will do everything you can to stay alive, once Stefan and your family are safe."

"I promise."

He leans in and kisses you gently. Holding you close. You kiss him back and tears stream down your face. You don't even care to stop them.

For a moment, his lips are all you can think about. You'd give anything to just stay there and kiss him, but not at the expense of others' lives, that's the only thing that could stop a moment like this.

"There's still hope Damon, I have magic. Maybe we can practice so I'll be ready to face Klaus?"

You smile, and he smiles back. You might be on to something.

You try a simple spell, but it doesn't work. You focus on the air around you and try to make the wind blow. Still nothing. It's as if you've never had magic.

"C'mon. Why isn't it working?"

"It's time Y/N, we need to go."

Damon frowns and slings on your back pack.

"Wait let me see if I can do telekinesis."

You try moving a leaf, a twig, a rock, even Damon, but nothing works.

You also try reading his mind without him knowing, and that doesn't work. You've tried temperature changing, making something appear, even flying.

Nothing happens. You even quote some of Bonnie's spells but they don't work. It's starting to get darker, time to go.

"Are you ready?" You ask.

Damon pulls your waist to him once more and kisses you. You linger there, trying to memorize the moment. How his lips feel, the sound of wind blowing through the trees. His warm hands on the small of your back. Everything that you want to remember, and then you're on your way. Probably walking to your grave, but you don't tell Damon

When you arrive at the shack Klaus is standing there with over a hundred hybrids behind him.

Bonnie is trapped in a circle of fire, and your parents are trapped in another. Klaus must have got them while you were coming.

But the most shocking part of all is Stefan, he's right next to Klaus. His eyes are yellow and his teeth are bared. He's on all fours as if he's about to pounce. Klaus smiles at Stefan. His work of art.

Stefan is a hybrid.
