HIS INSECURITIES
I have a boyfriend, his name is Kayden. We've been together for about two years yet he still have a lot of insecurities.
''Love paano 'pag pinaghiwalay nila tayo? Your parents don't want me for you. They want Calix not me" he said out of the blue.
We're here at the nearest park in our subdivision, dumayo pa s'ya para lang magkita kami and I appreciated his effort.
"Don't worry about them, they love me, that's all I can say'' I told him. "And Love, I trust you, if ever that day will come, let's fight together"
He faced me and I saw his genuine smile, "Yeah" he said as he nodded, "We will fight together"
The following days went well not until he heard something again from the others.
"Ang ganda-ganda no'ng babae tapos 'yong guy-"
"Sila ba? Hindi sila bagay''
"Sa pananamit pa lang halata mo na kung sino ang mayaman sa hindi"
I noticed he's struggling on my hold, at wala pa ngang segundo ng bitawan niya ang kamay ko.
"S-sorry" he whispered.
Sinubukan ko muling hawakan ang kamay niya pero hindi niya ako hinahayaan. He's bowing his head as we walk.
"Love, look at me" I said as I stopped. He wouldn't bulge, ayaw niya akong tignan pero alam kong nakikinig s'ya.
"Love, don't you trust me?" I cupped his face for him to look at me, he can't look directly into my eyes. His eyes keep on wandering.
"I-I do" he stammered. "I do trust you, I love you but-" he stopped mid-way.
I sigh, "But what? Let those judgemental people say what they want to say, I don't care. I love you and you love me, that's the only thing that matter to me"
"Pero.. hindi ako kasing yaman mo, hindi rin ako kasing kisig at gwapo ng mga manliligaw mo, hindi mo ako maipagmamalaki sa ibang tao kasi gan'to lang ako"
"Hindi ko kailangan ng gwapo at mayaman para may maipagmalaki lang. You're a hard-worker, you love me and you put your family and God as your priority. Sapat na sa akin 'yon para maipagmalaki ka"
"I will work harder, I will be the best version of myself para mapatunayan na bagay tayo para sa isa't-isa'' determinadong wika nito.
"I love you, Love" he said and kiss me in front of the others, not minding what will they say.
"I love you too"
