It's the month that children or anyone at any ages have been waiting for, December. Everyone— or lets say some people are excited about a one specific holiday and that is Christmas. Christmas, Christmas, how can Minjeong describes the holiday?
Growing up in a hometown that was far far away from even knowing what Christmas even is then was given a nickname Winter because of her icy looks and soft & pale skin. Minjeong know what Christmas is but because of where she was borne, no one in the town really gave a care to celebrate it or even talks about it.
She finds it amusing everytime people called her by the nickname Winter. Because, why would they even bothered to call someone by the word Winter when there isn't even a drops of snows falling down from the sky?
She remembers when she used to wait every morning in December, waiting for the crystal clear snows to dropped onto her soft black silky hair so that she can returned back into her house giggling, and showing off the ices on her head to her mom. But that was just an expectation, because in reality, even though how many days she has been waiting. There is no sight of the snow falling down from the sky.

It's six in the morning, and Minjeong almost forgot about a place she has to visit. She walked down the old, metal stairs that makes a rustling sound everytime she stepped on the metal. On her halfway downstairs, she bumped into one of her neighbors next door and of course she has to greets them, Yuta.
"Where are you off to so early?" He asked with his signature, warming smile. Minjeong doesn't knows if he is being sarcastic or serious since he looks like he has left earlier than her at the dawn and just came back.
She decided to puts on a friendly smiles instead of asking if he isn't aware, "Just somewhere," she replied and when Yuta just keep smiling brightly at her without even uttering a word, she assumed he might thinks she is trying to puzzled the words together. "Uh..to a store. I wanted a scarf for myself."
The orange hair boy finally responded with a nods "Have a safe trip then!" He gave a thumbs up then continued on walking upstairs.
Minjeong also goes back to doing her own business but then she pauses at the front of the door, where it's reflected a full image of her. She eyes herself up & down. Today she is wearing a sky blue turtleneck sweater, layered with a long coats that reaches her knees. She looks down at the umber colors trousers that one of her friend Ningning bought as a gift for her.
After checking herself out multiple times, she finally twisted the doorknob and walked out of the building.
These days are even colder than the other days. Well, luckily she also wears a white long sleeved shirt under her turtleneck sweater. Minjeong dumped both of her hands into the pockets of her coats, her eyes takes turns gazing at the people who are walking passed her.
While looking at them one by one, she also created a story for them in her head. Just now, she saw a lady that has her earphones plugged in and is holding an iced americano(?) while her other hand is in her pocket.
Minjeong raises her eyebrows, who would orders a cold drink in a weather like this? Thinking about the feeling of the skin touching a cold beverage while the air around them are chilly & numbing sent a shivers down her spines.
Overall, her outfit isn't so bad. She likes that her clothes looks upper class and preppy. And lastly, Minjeong makes up a story in her head that the person is heading to a bookstore right now.
Too busy in admiring and lost in her thoughts about another stranger, she almost walked passed the store she was heading to.
She stared from the outside, the store is an old one that was built in 1998. That is what she heard from the owner, Mrs.Yoo, after getting close to her, they exchanged words sometime if they met. But it's rare, because most of the time she only met her daughter who is very, very pretty.
Minjeong doesn't believes her eyes when she saw the girl for the first time behind the counter. She was holding a book in one of her hand while her elbows were resting on the counter and palms pressed onto her cheeks. Her deep brown eyes are too lost in the book that she doesn't even sense the presence of Minjeong standing there at the front door & stunned by the beauty she just saw .
But then, the pairs of eyes met her's and she lost her breath. The moment the angel looks at her, she wants to be trapped in those eyes forever but she can't. Because the eyes showed nothing but darkness. Nothing but mystical.
Minjeong shakes her head, she doesn't know if she will see her again but she would be lying if she said she doesn't want to. And even though so many times she has been to the store, she doesn't even get the girl's name. And she is disappointed in herself for that.
But then a part of her shut her up with a question, why does she even care if she doesn't knows what the girl's name is? It's just an attractive person and she believes many people would act the same as her if they saw the girl. That's what she told herself everytime she was about to enters the store, then gets fascinated by the beauty later.
She pushed through the door that ringed the bell everytime a costumer entered. Yet, even when the bell is loud enough for the people inside the store to hear, the person behind the counter doesn't even bothered to looks up and is still lost in the script that she is holding.
Minjeong happiness explodes and she was so stunned just like a status for a second then finally walking right ahead into one of the section.
When she gets to the section, she looks at all the scarfs that are layered on the shelf, but she also stole some glances to the girl behind the counter. Minjeong never actually knows a lot about her, all she knows is that she reads most of the time. Whenever Minjeong went to the shop, she always seen her reading or if not reading, it could be writing. Minjeong wondered what she's writing about so while the girl is scanning her stuff, her body are stiff but her eyes moved over to look at the paper laying on the table.
Today is just like the usual days, or maybe not. I've run out of books to read, coffee to sips and errands to run so what do I do now? Sitting behind the counter while waiting for my one & only dear mother to gets back from her—
A hand clasped onto the paper, and Minjeong flinched. She already knew whose the hand belongs to. Yet, she looks back up to the girl who is starring back at her, furiously. Minjeong gulped.
And that was the last time she ever visited the shop, which is like one & a half months ago. But now she is back again because she runs into Mrs.Yoo a week ago at the bakery and was having a conversation with her.
"Aren't you cold?" She asked with a worried look.
"A little, I didn't expect the weather to be this cold..maybe I will wear more layers if I ever go out again" Minjeong smiles. She was wearing a short sleeve tshirt & jeans, Minjeong couldn't believe why would she choose to wear that in this season? But she also can't blame herself, because half of her clothes are still in the washing machine.
"Oh dear, at least wear a scarf"
"A scarf?" Now that the lady mentioned about a cloth that people used to wrapped around their neck, to prevent them from the cold obviously. Minjeong never actually has a scarf, well she used to have one back at her hometown. The one that her grandma sewed for her. But she lost it somewhere she forgot.
Mrs.Yoo makes a suspicious face when Minjeong's answers was more like a question "Don't tell me you don't have a scarf...". Minjeong only chuckled and Mrs.Yoo sighed but she beamed after, "Oh! Why don't you comes to my store? We have tons of scarf arriving tomorrow"
Oh shit. Minjeong thoughts, the embarrassing memory of her taking a peek at the owners daughter's paper still hang around in her head. She could say no and makes excuses but—
"Sure, I will check them out this Sunday.. thank you"
"Great!"
Doomed. So so doomed .
