'Get in the car then' my mums shouts at me from across the street. I make my way across to the car, jogging, ready to be dropped off to my new school.
' you nervous ?' my mum asks me. 'I'm fine' I reply and I was actually fine. The anxiety of starting a new school no longer bothered me. I had already done it five times before.
'I promise this time you won't have to change schools' my mum assured me. I stayed silent knowing it wasn't true.
I looked out of the car window to see the autumn sun shining across a clear blue sky while the birds musically chirped on leafless branches. The ground was littered with bright orange leaves that crumpled and crunched under the car tires. I rolled down my window and inhaled the crisp air and let out a sigh of satisfaction. I truly loved the autumn weather. Nothing compared to the beauty it brought to the world. With the warm, fiery sunsets that began coming earlier into the day to the pinching cold yet refreshing weather that swept the suffocating summer heat away, I was sure that nothing else in the world could make me feel more warm and happy than the autumn season but that was only until I saw him. I saw him standing across the street near the school gate.
