--------------------------------------------

The air was crisp and chill, and the breeze blew past, nipping at every bit of over-exposed skin present on the residents of Yorknew. Despite the warnings from the air, people continued to flood the street and keep the monstrous city lively with noise and movement. Violet sat high above all the bustling activity of people on the street below, watching them in the distance from her sky-bound perch. The noise of their daily lives reverberated like a plaque off the walls of the surrounding high-rise buildings that stood around the outdoor balcony.

Violet maintained a cross-legged posture on one of Hisoka's extravagant patio chairs. She wore black leggings which curved with her legs in the seat, creating space for her long flowing light purple tunic knit sweater. It was a size too big for the demon huntress and hung off her left shoulder threatening to fall as a cold wind swooped up, even within the elevated refuge. The sweater's wool teased at her sensitive skin, testing Violet's patience. She paid it no mind, aware she wore a form-fitting white cotton tee underneath.

Eyes fixed on the horizon; she continued to admire the glorious view from another one of Hisoka's residences. She brought her warm mug to her lips, complete with gently escaping steam as the heat of the drink met with the cold Yorknew air. After taking the sweet liquid into her mouth, a content sigh escaped her lips before setting the mug back on the side table.

Violet untangled her legs and stepped barefooted onto the cold balcony floor. She walked to the middle of the perfectly see-through glass barrier of the upper area. Flipping the latch in the middle of the rectangular space, she opened the half-door and swung it outward to reach the stairs that led to the large lower level of the terrace that pushed out further into the mid-air above the city below.

The lower level was devoid of everything apart from a hot tub and small bar on the right-hand side. The cement sported intricate designs in the central square of the rectangular space. Violet's nose wrinkled as she walked over it toward the outer glass barrier. The flooring felt different on the designed portion near the centre of the space. It bent slightly when her weight added strain. She quickened her pace and made it to the far edge, gaining stability in her footing once more.

The bored fighter fixed her gaze over the barrier to survey the noise and people below. She didn't know how long she stood stationary, but at some point, her arms laid flat against the safety barrier. The skin of her chilled cheek rested against her wool-covered arm as she watched from above.

"Do you realise how cold it is, kitten? ~♠" Violet didn't acknowledge him and heard a chuckle resonate at her non-response. "Have you frozen to my patio, snowflake?"

Violet sighed and straightened her spine before she clung to the barrier and leaned back so her head hung enough to see her captor's upside-down position. Hisoka Morou stood at the top of the stairs on the top level of the balcony. His arms were crossed, and his gravity-defying red hair was slicked high and back. It foiled the persistent pull of the cold breeze that sent her long dirty blonde locks with bight blonde highlights flowing freely in its grip, forcing the hip-length hair to dance wild and free. The magician's face held his classic curved smile, but his golden-amber eyes were relaxed and bright as they surveyed her.

"I don't have anything else to do, so I'm watching the people who actually have things, like freedom. And lives," Violet snarked back before returning her body to a proper position.
