Poem of colors

Colored Night

The aurora borealis hung across the night sky

Like loose strings of multi-colored yarn

Hanging from a black blanket

The pure crystal snowflakes piled high around me

And the wind made an eerie noise

Floating above

Tangling in my wind blown hair

My skin had a silver tint

In the soft pastel light from colors painting the sky

The stars shined from above

Glistening and twinkling

As if they were dancing in a sea of colors

Owls swooped through the sky

Intervening between the strands of colors

Twisting and turning in the forever moving painting of Mother Earth

The wolves came

Pounding across the pure white snow

Letting out a wail of beauty

As though they were only mist

Waving in the night
