The water estate

Itachi woke up to the sound of his old crow, having flown through his open window, knocking against his wooden desk. Sitting up he looked around the room he was in. Everything was slightly blurred due to his overuse of the mangekyo sharingan and the fact that he had just woken up but he was able to see well enough to read the clock that hung above his door. It was 8.15am. Turning to the bird on his desk he waited for it to speak. "Emergency hashira meeting" the bird squawked at him somewhat shakily. It took Itachi a moment to register the message but he soon remembered.

'That's right, I had joined the demon slayer corps as a means to help fund the akatsuki'

Thanking his demon-slayer-corps-provided crow, Kanzaburo, he watched the bird fly away before standing to get ready for the hashira meeting. Having stood a little too quickly he had a short fit of coughing, spitting up a small amount of blood into his hand before sighing and going to his bathroom to clean himself up for the day.

Stepping back into his room, Itachi quickly stripped and dressed himself in the demon slayer uniform and his signature half and half haori he had taken to wearing after joining the organisation. He then adjusted the necklace around his neck for the three rings to sit correctly before tucking it under the collar of his uniform. From the corner of his eye he spotted his akatsuki robes, clouds red with the blood of  past conflicts decorating pitch black cloth. The robe was hung somewhat proudly on the wall next to his scratched Konoha headband. Unconsciously he rubbed the back of his crimson akatsuki ring and submerged himself in thought.

Thoughts of Sasuke rushed through his mind- how he missed his brother. Truly, Itachi was wishing for sasuke's well being, however he was in no position to complain about their poor relationship as it was his own fault- being so untruthful and harsh towards his younger brother. Sasuke was his everything and he had only been seven during the time of the massacre, yet it was all Itachi could think to do to make himself out as the villain. One day he would attone, he would be penalised for his actions through death and sasuke would be viewed as a hero for killing such a horrid murderer. At least, that was the plan. Surely, Shisui would not approve of so much bloodshed but it was a means to an end, that end being the prevention of war within konoha. Shisui as well, he missed him to no end but it would only be a matter of time before they reunited, perhaps a couple of years, too long in Itachi's opinion but it would be selfish if he were to force death upon himself, especially with Sasuke's interests in mind.

He had unintentionally activated the sharingan whilst he was lost in his own thoughts. It wasn't until Kanzaburo had returned to knock on his window that he had snapped out of it. "Hurry, no time to waste. Hashira meeting!" The bird seemed a little more urgent this time. The kasugai crows, while practical and good at their job, were less effective than Itachi's own crows but they were given to each member of the corps and were a sign of loyalty toward Ubuyashiki. Sighing, Itachi turned to his mirror and quickly brushed through his hair. Since adopting his fake name, and hardly, but still new persona as 'Giyu Tomioka - the water pillar of the demon slayer corps' he had changed his style slightly to try to avoid recognition if he were to ever encounter someone from the elemental nations, however unlikely. He tied his hair back into a messy ponytail and ruffled it a little to add some effect because, you know, fashion 'n that. Although the change clearly wasn't massive as he still looked the same, his colour scheme was slightly more varied going from his favourite black and red to his new black, red, green and yellow. While he didn't mind switching things up with the colours, he found that he preferred his old combination far more. There was also the hairdo that had changed, again only slightly, but it was enough that it would delay the amount of time it would take for shinobi to realise who he was without the display of his sharingan.

Opting to skip breakfast as the master had specified that this was an emergency summons for the hashira, Itachi slipped on his sandals and made haste toward Ubuyashiki's estate outwardly known as Giyu Tomioka.
