Taylor lowered her head. He started a sentence but never finished. There was a deathly silence, so quiet that she could hear the leaves on the trees and a bird singing in the distance. The only thing she felt now was shame. For what, though? What had she done? He was just a friend, he was helping her, and it wasn't his fault that she seemed to fall in love with him like a schoolgirl. He wasn't even hers, and why wasn't he hers? He probably has a girl back home, probably living a normal life and not at all like Taylor.
- Taylor, are you okay? You look weird-Joe's voice snapped her out of her thoughts.
- Yeah, I guess so. I'm really embarrassed Joe, you probably didn't mean it and I'm here with my kissing and you probably have a girlfriend and it's all very wrong, I'm sorry about that. Let's probably just go our separate ways, you know, we shouldn't see each other anymore.
- No.
- Excuse me?!
- Taylor, those are such stupid thoughts. I have feelings for you too, we both do. I don't have anyone and I did exactly what I wanted to do and I want to be with you.
Now it was Taylor's turn to be surprised. Or not to be surprised. She lifted her head and looked at him. With a little apprehension. So their feelings were mutual? Joe pulled her closer to him, and kissed her again. More, their kiss grew deeper and their tongues were already entwined. Taylor felt like she'd finally gotten something she'd wanted and wanted for a long time. They pulled away from each other.
- Taylor Swift, will you be my girlfriend?- he asked in a formal tone.
- Yes, of course.
He smiled at her and looked into her blue eyes.He held out his hand to her and she gently took it, he squeezed it tightly. She looked at him, his smile and his hair that the wind was fluttering a little. He was beautiful.
- Shall we go on?- he asked.
Taylor nodded affirmatively. She walked and looked at her hand in his, perhaps one of her most spontaneous decisions, but that didn't make it any less right. Joe stepped back a little and took a picture of Taylor, she smiled at him for the camera, but the important thing was that it was a real smile, and Taylor hasn't had many of those lately. They finally made it to the top and sat down tiredly on the blanket Joe had thoughtfully brought with him. They sat down on it and Taylor got them sandwiches and Joe poured tea for them from a thermos. It was a little chilly, and after a while Joe gave Taylor his denim jacket and Taylor wrapped herself in it and laid her head on his shoulder. He kissed the top of her head and buried his face in her hair.
- I missed you this whole time-he whispered in her ear.
- Me too.
Taylor was silent, they hadn't talked about their past relationship and how Taylor had left him yet, I guess we should talk, huh? But she wasn't sure she was ready for that right now, and she was glad he didn't go on about it and just sat down so she could lie comfortably on his shoulder. They must have been there for over an hour, talking about everything. Eventually they got up, gathered their things, and started to go downstairs, trying not to let people see Taylor. And they almost succeeded, when suddenly, at the very end, when they were relaxed and holding hands, a voice came from behind them:
- Excuse me, Taylor, can I get a picture with you?
Taylor turned around abruptly and let go of his hand, standing in front of them was a girl of about 17-18 with a camera in her hand. The groupie looked intently at Joe, and as it seemed Taylor smiled slyly. Taylor took a picture with her, wished her a good time, and went back to Joe.
- She saw us holding hands, didn't she?
- I think so. But from the looks of it, she's not going to make a news story out of it. I looked at her and she didn't try to take a picture of us from the back. So I guess we got lucky this time.
- Yeah, I hope so.
They continued walking but trying not to look like a couple anymore, when they reached Taylor's car she looked at Joe and asked:
- Can we go in my car?
- I'd love to, but I'm scared to leave my car here, I don't know what will happen to it.
- Okay. So...see you tomorrow?
He kissed her and said
-See you tomorrow.
She watched him walk away in the direction of the parking lot, occasionally looking back to smile and wave at her.
