AIDAN'S POV -past

I am going to kiss Carmen! Oh shit, I'm finally going to kiss her, and she's going to let me! I watched her flick her tongue across her lips. Carmen looked so sexy. I can't deny I had wanted to do this forever. Pressing against the wall behind me, holding the bundle in the small of my back, I slid my hand out from behind my back.  I reached up to cup the back of her neck.

She looked at me, and her eyelids fluttered as I brought my face closer to hers. Her lips looked so luscious, her natural deep red darkening as the blood flowed back in where she had bitten it. I could smell her sweet breath, and I inhaled deeply.

As I closed my eyes, I felt my body slide down the wall as my feet were suddenly no longer on the ground, my captive bundle falling to the side. My ass hurt. Carmen pushed her feet apart and caused both of us to do a split, though she was more flexible and not in pain from a raging hard-on. She took the opportunity while I remained stunned to grab her diary.

"I KNOW you weren't going to take this! What were you thinking?" Carmen snatched up her diary, stalked into her room, closing the door behind her. I was finally coming back to my senses and began laughing. I heard her rummaging around her drawers before she stomped back into the hall. "Just shut up, and don't you EVER touch my diary again."

By this time, tears ran down my face from laughing so hard.  Carmen was so cute when upset. The side of her mouth twitched up, and a dimple appeared near her mouth. She wasn't as mad as she made out, mainly because she got one up on me and took possession of her diary after making me fall. Carmen reached out for me, a giggle erupting as a full smile covered her face. I grabbed her hand and stood up.

"Aidan, let's go before I knock you on your rear again."

I bent down to pick up her brother's snacks as we went to leave the house. Well, that didn't go as I hoped.

Carmen turned to look at me, suddenly tense. I walked smack into her. "Did you read any of it?" There was a hint of panic in her inflection. Her eyes were wide, confirming the juiciness written on those pages. I never wanted to lie to Carmen. I slowly nodded. "What did you see?"

There were two ways this was going to go down. One, I could blackmail Carmen with my knowledge and possibly lose her friendship. Two, I could be honest and maybe see something beautiful soon, keeping my friendship fully intact. My Dad often taught me that discretion was the better part of valor.  I did care about Carmen, so the choice was easy. "The last two entries."

There have been few chances in our time together to see Carmen flush from head to toe, but this was one of them. I could see she understood my words.  Her immediate embarrassment was intense. She quickly pivoted and practically ran out the door. I followed, pulling the door closed and locking it as I exited. She already had the truck running by the time I came down the porch stairs. She was resting her head on the back of her forearms as she folded over the steering wheel. I could see her breathing deeply, trying to rein in her emotions.

Carmen lifted her head with a heavy breath and looked at me. With a trembling voice, she asked, "Are you going to say anything?"

"Chicken out tonight, and I'll spill the beans to everyone." I really wouldn't, but she doesn't know that. Carmen rarely backs down from any perceived dare, which I intentionally set her up to believe.

"Fine, but I swear if Joe finds out, YOU are the one getting in trouble. Comprende?"

I sat back in my seat without responding. I knew for sure this was going to be the best camp-out ever.
