"sometimes, somethings are better left unsaid."

-

Having been received by the Kims, the family makes their way inside the house and straight towards the dinning area. It wasn't a lavish or extravagant house after all. Just a simple three bedroom apartment to suffice a middle class family. It was apparently enough for the ones at home as well. They sat at their designated place as they made small talk during the dinner.

Baekhyun and Taehyung had never gotten along well. But were forced to right now. after ten years, if Taehyung counts it right. They were once close cousins. Almost inseperable. But once Taehyung came out as gay to his parents, and his parents having supported him, all the other's left their side. Though Taehyung had regretted it once, his parents made sure he never felt that way again.

So, it had been ten years since they last talked to any relatives. Out of the blue they had received an invitation to dinner from Baekhyun's family and they couldn't refuse. So here he was, trying his best not to breath down the other's last ounce of air to kill him. He just couldn't stand pretentious people. The one who claimed to do everything for the third party's benefit. It just wasn't his cup of tea.

But he had to act nice. Since his parents seemed happy to be meeting them. So he put on his best fake smile and faked enough attention to the other's conversation to keep the other going. After a while, Baekhyun's mom spoke out to them. "Why don't you show him your room, Baek?" and Baekhyun had enthusiastically nodded as he dragged the helpless Taehyung with him.

The night passed away to ten in a similar manner. Taehyung having to bare with his cousin while his parents and sister enjoyed their own conversation outside. When he felt it was enough, he made his way out of the room himself and ushered his parents home. His parents being in an extremely good mood for it to pass out of Taehyung's attention.

But the teacher did not having enough energy in him to actually question it. he just disregarded it as them being happy over finally being able to bond. Though he personally never wanted to, but he would for the sake of his parents. He would do anything for them and his sister as well. Kim Jisoo. Eight years younger. Just having entered nursing college, fulfilling her dream.

He ruffled her hair as he made his way to his own bedroom. He was just about to call it a night when the stack of papers caught his attention. He sighed as he made his way to the table to sort them out. They were exam papers. The ones that needed to be graded. And he set his mind to finish them before he got any ounce of sleep for the night.

Just as he was about to start, his phone dinged. Taehyung took it out to see Jungkook's name pop up on the screen. "Why is this boy calling so late at night?" he asked himself as he attended the other's call. The other's face popped up at the other end of the call while his own was also there. A video call. Taehyung hadn't noticed that.

"God Tae. You look horrible. How bad was the dinner?" Jungkook chuckled from the other end of the call. Taehyung also laughed a little to himself at the comment. And definitely at his horrifying state. "Worse than one could imagine." He said. "Why did they call though? I thought they didn't want to have anything to do with you?" Jungkook asked this time.

Taehyung sighed as he shook his head. "I don't know." He muttered as he turned his head away from the screen. "Okay, forget about it. let all the dead souls rest in hell." Jungkook said. This was their way of wishing someone the worst possible. And Taehyung sure cracked at that. His best friend's silly antics had always had the other bawling out in laughter.

"Mhmm." He whispered as they talked about everything but the traumatic dinner Taehyung had. They spent another two hours laughing their time away when the stack of paper caught the Maths teacher's attention once again. With a hurried goodnight he cut off the call as he set himself to correct the sheets.

Snickering at a few and laughing hysterically at another few. Being impressed by a few and silently patting himself for the rest, Taehyung completed the work. He arranged everything the way they are supposed to be before he made his way to his bed. Finally deciding to call it a night. He laid down as he pulled the blanket upon himself before sinking into his thoughts on the dinner tonight.

"what was their purpose of this dinner?" he asked himself as he couldn't help but question their motives. The only ever reason his relatives called them for dinner was to show off their non-existent intelligence. The one that his family profusely avoided everytime. The ones that Taehyung outwitted everytime as well.

"Why did they suddenly call us? And why did mom and dad look so happy all of a sudden?" he asked himself again. But he wasn't sure if he was going to get answers to them. He would have to ask his parents the following morning if their mood remained the same. Just as he was about to indulge further into these thoughts, his phone dinged again. This time it was a message.

Don't think about it unneccesarily and catch some sleep babes.💜

The message read. Taehyung smiled as he read the message once more. It was a miracle that his best friend knew his so well. Sometimes it was creepy while other times, he felt like he was being followed. Well, creepy again. He shook his head at the thought as he typed back a reply.

12.53 am

The message read to Jungkook. He smiled as he felt achieved on guessing right. Truth be told, he himself had also been thinking of the said incident but couldn't think of a possible solution yet. He had to shrug everything off before he had typed in that message to Taehyung.

Of course. If not me, who else? 😏😎

12. 54 am

Taehyung smiled at himself and muttered a 'dork' before he set his phone aside and went to bed. He needed to sleep now if he needed to wake up the next day. The next day was going to be a long one as well. The students were going to start having their half year exams. This time Taehyung was the head in charge of collection of the answer sheets, so he had a huge responsibility on himself.

He had to collect all the answer sheets of the day. Sort them out with the help of other teachers and stack them class-wise before handing them to the COE the following day. COE was the center for office of examination. The place where all the answered were corrected, and the marks were uploaded to their official website.

He sighed as he thought through his plan on collecting papers once more. If need be, he needed to call Jungkook, Jimin and Yoongi for help as well. Silently hoping they would comply, he went to his sleep.

The next morning, the same routine of his mom waking him up and him making his way downstairs followed. He observed his parents mood once more and found them to maintain the same radiant smile from the previous night. Something surely happened at the dinner to have them smiling from ear to ear.

"What is it? why are you both so happy?" he asked. His voice wasn't laced with any negative emotion though. He was infact, very happy that his parents were in a good mood as well. He eagerly watched them for a reply as he saw them looking amongst them. They made their way to the dining table as they placed themselves in the opposite chairs to Taehyung.

"Baby bear, you are already 26 you know?" his mom started out slowly. Taehyung also nodded his head along. Of course he knew that. "And it is time to find a guy for you.." his father trailed off this time. and Taehyung seemed to have caught on to the drift. He stopped his parents from saying anything further as he held his hand up.

"Yeah yeah guys. I get it. I will find myself a boyfriend soon." He said as he tried to walk away. But his parents stopped him with their words. "That is the thing baby. You don't need to. We have found a guy for you." They had oh-so carelessly stated out. The statement that hitched Taehyung's breath beyond belief.

One thought running through his mind. "Don't tell me it is..."
