"Mija! Get the Arepas in the Budare then go deliver these Pan De Queso's!"
"On it Papa!"
I quickly put the Arepas on the pan and gathered the basket full of Pan De Queso's with a note with all the addresses on them. I ran out the door to the crowded streets of Encanto, the roads were full of people preparing for the gift giving ceremony. I make my way to the first house, my hands and knees tremble as I'm about the knock on the door.

"Ah, y/n! Do you have my order?" I cant help but feel nervous every time I deliver papa's food, the thought of being near people freaks me out. "Uhm yea, 10 Pan De Queso's?" "That's it!" I give them their order and make my way to the other houses. Being the daughter of the town baker means I'm the delivery girl, always on the run to get ingredients and give people their food. My papa wants me to follow in his footsteps and become a baker too but I don't have a passion for food like he does, I love painting and creating artworks. A few months ago Abuela Alma took notice of my sketches and asked me if I wanted to paint a mural of her family, the Madrigal family. I couldn't say no to the opportunity and now people walk past my artwork everyday.
Eventually I make my way to the Madrigal house. Papa says its an honour for their family to request our food as they are basically like royalty in Encanto. I do my routine of deep breaths and knock with trembling hands.

The door opens "Hm? Oh! You must be Senor Lopez's daughter! I'm Julieta Madrigal," A beautiful woman in a cyan dress greets me "Our hands are very full today, I'm sure you're aware of the ceremony taking place, everything needs to be perfect. Come on in! You can place the Pan De Queso's in the kitchen." Senora Julieta leads me inside their casita to the kitchen where a curly haired boy with tan skin is seen eating an Arepa. "Camilo! No eating until the ceremony!" Senora scolds him "But I'm hungry! Sigh I guess I'll help Abuela with the decorations," He gets off the counter and sees me behind Senora Julieta. We lock eyes "Hey! You painted to mural, right? I'm Camilo, you should paint something for the ceremony-" "Camilo! Out!"
She turns to me "Sigh sorry about him. Here, you can put the Pan De Queso's on the bench." I lightly place the basket on a wooden bench with shelves full of spices above it "You should join us for the ceremony tonight! I'm sure you and your father need a break from all of your hard work," I'm flattered by the offer "Oh! Uh... I'll ask Papa! T-thank you so much for the offer!" And hurry out the door embarrassed by my lack of social skills.
As I make my way out Abuela Alma stops me cheerfully "Y/n! What brings you here?" The amount of talking I have to do today is killing me "Um I'm just delivering some food, I'll see myself out now-" "Not so fast, would you like to paint an artwork for Antonio? I'm sure he would love that, you can paint something around his door!" I couldn't believe that the Madrigals would ask for me to paint artworks for them "Um yes! I would be honoured! But uh... would the casita be ok with it?" suddenly the floorboards moved excitedly "It would be the one honoured," Abuela smiles. "I wont let you down!" I run out the door filled with energy and excitement. I cant to sketch some ideas.
Maybe today wasn't so bad after all.
