sirens, sirens
( teen wolf. s3A )chapter four.
in the knowULTIMATELY, Stiles Stilinski couldn't dwell too much on whatever clouded his thoughts. The police arrived in record time, questioning the girls on their sudden appearance at the scene. That was definitely something Alani never thought she'd have to explain━━and, by the looks of things, neither had Lydia. Somehow, they both got away with telling the police that, yes, they were originally on their way to the shops (which was the truth), but as they were passing the place where the local pool resides, they just so happened to see something that didn't look right, especially when it was so late in the night, they knew it should've been closed. Hence their appearances.
Thankfully, the police took their word for it, and allowed them to make their own journey home upon their request. As they were walking back to way their parked vehicles lay, Stiles stopped the girls going in the direction of Lydia's car━━he argued that he didn't think it wise for Lydia to drive them home (there was no way they were going to attempt going to the shops again!) when she was still very clearly shaken up from everything. After a few more moments of arguing between the duo, Lydia ultimately agreed for Stiles to take them home in his jeep, instead.
The silence enshrouded them.
No one particularly knew what to say━━Alani was beyond terrified over what she had seen (and, still slightly confused, she'll admit), Lydia's eyes had glazed over, her mind clouded, and Stiles... well, Alani imagined Stiles had plenty to say, he just didn't want to disrupt their own self-depression.
Until, he did.
"So," Stiles' voice dragged out, awkward, like he didn't really want to be having this conversation, or he was scared of how Alani was going to react. One hand stayed perched upon the wheel, and his eyes continued to dart back and forth from Alani's reflection through the mirror and the road looming ahead of them. "What exactly... happened?"
What had happened?
Well, Alani's eyes gazed upon a real-life corpse, before falling unconscious, and watching said boy play out the last moments of his entire life. When said like that, Alani was sure anyone else would've had nightmares at the thoughts. But, these were her nightmares━━ones that continued to haunt her even when she was awake.
Sucking in a deep sigh through her mouth, preparing herself for what she was about to admit, Alani reminded herself that everything would be okay. She had been through this similar scenario before; in fact, just less than an hour ago, with Lydia. Lydia was accepting, something Alani wasn't exactly expecting. So, surely that meant that Stiles would be the same, too, if they were all part of some... group.
