Johneé POV
I was walking down the hall when I got a text from my mom. She said that my dad passed away this morning. I felt tears coming down my cheeks.
Jasmine: Man did Adrienne tell y'all that she was sick?
Cieira: Johneé what's wrong.
Me: *crying* My dad passed away this morning and I didn't get to say goodbye!
Jasmine pulled me into a hug. I cried on her chest till I heard the bell ring. We went to class but I couldn't think. My dad is dead and I wasn't there. When my first class was over, I went to the bathroom. I found a stall and sat on the toilet. I started crying my eyes out. I thought people heard me but I didn't care. As I was crying, I got a call from Adrienne.
Me: Hello?
Adrienne: I'm so sorry that that happened to you baby girl. I mean you loved him and never said goodbye .
Me: Yeah I never did. But thanks for your concern.
Adrienne: How about I ask my mom to come get you.
Me: That would be nice.
We hung up and I went to my next class. I had that class with Jasmine. I sat next to her and laid on her shoulder. I cried silently.
Flashback:
Me: Dad do you love me?
My dad: Of course Johneé Amber.
Me: So since you do, can we play basketball now?
My dad: Sure baby girl.
Flash back over.
He always came to my games and didnt judge me when I came out gay. He was there. And now he's gone.
Jasmine: Adrienne is here.
I looked up and Adrienne was grabbing her work. She told me to come on and I did. Her mom took us to get some food because I eat when I'm sad. I just miss him.
Jasmine's POV:
I was walking in the hall with Cieira. We was going to find a way to cheer up Johneé. Her pops was like my best friend. I know how it feels to lose your best friend. My dad passed when I was growing up.
Cieira: Let's have her meet some basketball players.
Me: Do you have the money to do that?
Cieira: Yes I do.
Me: Then lets get it popping.
Cieira called some people and waited for them to ask where to meet. Since I was at my house, We invited Johneé and the squad over. Johneé looked so sad.
Me: We got a surprise for you.
Johneé: What is it.
Michael Jordan: Are you Johneé?
Johneé: Yes .
Michael: I want to invite u and ur friends to my birthday bash.
