Harry was taking a calm stroll around Hogwarts, the afternoon sun was blazing down onto the hall's interior, lighting the dull greys up with all sorts of warm fuzzy colours.
Harry loves the beauty that the castle holds.
Harry slowed his pace when he heard the clicking of shoes in front of him, he was just about to turn the corner when two boys made their way past him, just exiting the Owlery in front of him. Judging by their ties they were sporting, they were in Gryffindor. With one holding a tight clenched fist that seemed like it had been stained dark red that dripped onto the floor at a rapid pace. They both looked at one another before they chuckled, their faces twisted into sinister grins that creped onto their faces before they sprinted off down the hallway, most likely missing the shadowy figure hiding off to the side as they passed him.
Harry continued to stare off down the hallway where the boys had disappeared off to before turning back around.
Curious got the better hold on him, he wondered what had them so thrilled.
And what that substance was.
When Harry made his way to the looming door, he had to swallow the sudden fear that bubbled in his throat, his hand grasped at the handle as he pushed the large door open. Birds of all kind scattered around on higher points of branches and ledges around the towering room. The hooting of agitated birds was loud in Harrys ears but got quieter as he carefully walked in to look around the room more clearly.
There was less birds in before, the place was in disarray as many owls were huffing loudly and feathers were scatted heavy around the place.
His body grew ridged as he smelt something strongly of metallic, the slight stench of fresh death drifted calmly along with the cold afternoon breeze, his eyes darted around frantically, trying to search for the potential thing that reeked.
His eyes eventually landing on a white fanned out form in the middle of the room. He quickly turned away, hands covering his mouth with a muffled sob. Eyes watering as he forced his eyes to dart back to the lump, his eyes widen more.
There laying calmly, bathed in gold light was his beloved Hedwig, her pale form spread like a fallen angel. Blood seeped out from under her mattered feathers, staining her pearly white coverage, her neck seemed like it was slit along the front breast plumage and up near the eye, barely noticeable from the position she lied in.
With a loud agonising cry Harry rushed over to his friend.
"HEDWIG! HEDWIG!!"
Harry kneeled on both knees over his friend, trembling hands digging into her bloody feathers as he scooped her up onto his lap, hot heavy sobs wept from his lips as he brushed her face lightly, he carded his non blood covered fingers though her glossy back-feathers.
"No, no Hedwig, don't leave me here without you. You- you can't..!" More sobs broke out as his throat clamed shut. Harry slowly wrapped his arms around Hedwig's body, leaking blood all over himself as he moved over to a more cleaner part of the tower. Laying down, he curled around Hedwig's cold body, her rose coloured blood seeped into the clothing of his stomach. Smoky mist hissed out of his teeth as he laid his head onto his knee's, his watery tears sliding off his cheeks and seeped deep into the wound of his beloved companion.
"I- I promise to you Hedwig...We'll get our revenge "
His eyes glowed bright with magic before the light disappeared underneath shut eyes.
His breath was streaming hot, like an untamed dragon ready to rage that swarmed around the white feathers underneath him.
It was moments after his words that bits of his magic flared up and out into the crisp air. With a zap, sparks of the magical mystical colours flew around Hedwig's jagged wound, her blood shone with a gold glow before retreating back into her skin, leaving a scar in its making. Harry, oblivious to the light show clung to her form, only to open his eyes to rub his noise and eyes.
