Luna's POV

Being a princess is not as fun as you would think. It's not as the novels tell express to you or how the movies show you, no, it's as if you're a normal person. By normal I mean that you can do what everyone else does, with certain boundaries. For instance, I am not allowed to attend a public school because my father is worried about somebody kidnapping me or holding me hostage for a reward to bring me home safely.

However I am blessed to be able to do things that normal people wouldn't be able to do. For instance, just yesterday my father bought me a cougar. A cougar! Most people get a dog to protect them but I was given a cougar. I'm starting to think that my father enjoys the idea of slow, yet very painful, death upon his enemies. I'm not sure if that scares me or not.

"Princess Luna?" The guard says as he walks into my room. I sit straight up, trying to appear bigger than I actually am.

"Havent I told you before not address me as princess Luna! Just because my father is the king, does not mean I enjoy the title! I am not your little princess!" I raise my voice.

"Im so sorry Luna I just-" He stammers.

Before he could embarress himself further, my best friend Niall appears from behind him. He offered me a
crooked smile, to which I returned.

The guard, to which I haven't learned the name of, looks back at him as if pleading for help. My father rotates his guards so quick that I am not given the opportunity to get to know them. It's quite annoying but he says that it's better that way, so that they don't have time to be around me as much. My father is terrible at trusting things. Niall, being the kind guy he is, tells him that he has it from here. Niall shut the door, leaving the guard outside of it.

Niall Horan is a prince, his family decided to move here around the time I turned ten. My moms always telling me that we should get married but honestly I cant see that happening. Niall and I are like family, I have friendzoned Niall so hard. Niall is okay with it though, he doesn't see us dating, let alone getting married.

"You know you dont have to be that mean?"Niall says, then laughing. My posture loosens a bit, and a warm smile appears on my face.

"Its fun" I shrug.

"You really should control your temper Lu Lu" he says, using the nickname that I absolutely love. He takes a seat on my bed, besides me.

"Whats up with the armor?" I ask, eyeing his attire.

"Whats up with the dress?" Niall teases, making me laugh.

"Ni, my flowers dying save them." I whine, poking at his metal armor.

"Alrighttttt" he exaggeratingly says, while slowly standing up and walking towards my flowers. I stand next to him and watch the blue leave his eyes. While using his gift, his eyes are now all white as water is coming from his hand.

A knock at the door startels both of us. The water running from his hand stops abruptly and I slightly jump.

"Luna darling, your mentor Liam is here. Im sure you can show Niall out."

"Im sorry for the wait" I apologise to liam, who is seated patiently. I set my things out to prepae to get lectured and his hand waves up, signalling me to stop. I send his a confused face, while stopping my movement.

"Luna I came not to teach today, but i've come tell you that information on jump-starters has been further updated"

"What is it?" I ask, urgent. Jump-starters are people who come from earth, and onto our planet. Jump-starting is illegal and in no way tolerated by my father or anybody who comes into contact with them. I, on the other hand, am fascinated with them.

Ever since Harry, I've been researching jump-starters and what they are. My father never spoke about them, and I never told him about Harry. I did tell Liam though.

"When jump-starters transport to a different plant, galaxy, or any other place, Earths time is frozen, which is why they are incapable of staying long" he informed me further.

"Are you saying thats why harry didnt stay long?"

"Yes, look Luna, this boy is very dangerous" he warned. Dangerous? I don't see how jump-starters are of any danger to our kind. I've been full of so many questions and I have yet to get answers.

"Whats that supposed to mean?"

"Maybe you should stop looking for him, we both could get in big trouble if your father finds out." he said, while standing. He packed up his things and began walking towards the guard, so he can show him out.

"So what! Do you expect me to give up eight years of research?!" I called back at him. I made sure my voice wasn't that loud, in case my father was near. However, It was loud enough for him to hear and turn back to me.

"Luna calm down, your birthday is tomorrow just focus on that" he said, giving me a smile. Then he walked out leaving me with so many questions.
