life is too cruel. if we cease to believe in love, why would we want to live?
"When the flowers bloom, our love will perish," I sang into the mic.
I was currently finishing up the last two songs on my new album. This album will be my third English album, and my label was hoping it would have the same success as my previous English album.
"Oh baby, when the flowers bloom, You can go your own way, Go your own way," I sang.
"Oh, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes (Yes, yes, yes, yes), Our love was light and breezy, and we knew just what to do, Now when the flowers bloom we look so unhappy, and I know that our love has gone with the wind," I sang.
The music stopped playing, and the producer asked me to step out of the booth as someone was here to talk to me.
I stepped out of the booth and walked into the room, and found Bo-ah sitting on the couch.
"Oh, hey, what are you doing here?" I asked Bo-ah.
She stood up, and we bowed slightly to each other before hugging.
"I heard you were recording here, so I came to catch up with you," Bo-ah answered.
Bo-ah and I have been friends since she got scouted at a talent search in 1998. In the music industry, I'm considered a senior to her, but she's older than me by four years, but us being so young when we started in the industry made us close, and she's like a big sister to me.
"Yeah, I haven't seen you in like forever," I said.
"Because you've been busy working," She said.
We took a seat on the couch, and my producer stepped out to give us privacy.
"So, what have you been up to?" I asked her.
"Just doing things to keep me busy but not too busy like you," She replied.
"Okay, I get it; I'm too busy," I said.
"So, I heard your parents have been trying to reach out to you," She said.
I groaned and placed my head on the couch.
"It's like every time anyone sees me; it's about my parents talking to the media, and I don't even know why they're doing it, but they are not getting a penny out of me; I would instead donate all my money to charity before I ever give them a dime of my hard-earned money," I said.
"Astra, I know you, so that's why I'm telling you to get this handled the legal way so that they can leave you alone for good," She said.
"I know my grandmother already advised me to seek legal action against my parents," I said.
"She did?" She asked, shocked.
I nodded.
"Yup, you know the number one person who has my parents more than me is my grandmother; even when they left me after the divorce, my grandmother made sure she and my grandpa had full and sole custody of me so my parents couldn't have access to me," I explained to Bo-ah.
"So, why are your parents behaving this way if they signed their rights away?" She asked.
I shrugged.
"Connections, maybe," I answered.
