THE SKY GREW DARKER, thousands of stars replacing the silky clouds and the almost- full moon replaced the sun. Astrid usually loved this time of day, when you could admire the countless stars drawing pictures in your mind where you thought they connect. But today, she hated it. She closed her blinds as to not think much of her last summer day ending, an attempt to keep the thought out of her mind.

Nymphadora Tonks- her cousin, was sat on the maple finished floor rereading ( for what seemed like the hundredth time ) a guide to gain control of her metamorphmagus abilities. So far, she hadn't been successful, her hair had turned a dark scarlet as her frustration increased. Astrid had found it quite amusing watching Dora beside her, she would often glance up from her summer homework and to no surprise she would see no progress.

After three essays, five questionnaires and two summary papers, she was finally on the last assignment- a five page herbology essay. Astrid wondered why herbology was a mandatory class, unless she became a gardener the subject was pointless. Nonetheless, she scribbled away at the paper, not caring that she was clearly copying from a book about mint that Ted had in his office. Even though she evidently plagiarized the muggle book, she couldn't bring herself to finish the last two pages. Her hand was beyond cramped and she had convinced herself that most of the professors would just grade on completion.

Astrid threw the essay aside- rather dramatically, laying her back on the floor. She didn't notice her cousins glare, as she stretched her limbs as far as they would go.

Dora huffed, finally getting Astrids attention who furrowed her eyebrows, looking curiously at her her. "I was so close Astrid," Dora put her hand up, a small space between her thumb and index finger. "Now I have to start all over again!" she said, an exasperated expression taking over her features.

Astrid rolled her eyes, leaning again to face the ceiling. "Don't put the blame me Dora. If you can't turn into an ugly pig it's not my fault," she shrugged, indifferent to Dora's complaints.

"I wanted to turn my nose into a pig nose, you idiot," replied Nymphadora, rereading - once again, the five step instructions in her book.

Astrid was also seemingly unaffected by the insult, "Theres so many other animals that aren't hideous. I'm trying to do you a favor, what if you get stuck with an awful pig nose?" She turned to face Dora, turning the page to a one that was dedicated to cats. She pointed to the Australian Mist breed, "See I wouldn't mind getting stuck as this cat."
