You were running in the park, taking a jog. You eventually feel tired and take a break. A person who looks like both a cat and a human decides to sit next to you but startles you.
Kitty: Hi there!
You become surprised then you calm down as you make her feel welcome. You ask for her name.
Kitty: Oh, I'm Kitty. And you?
You say your name. Kitty gets a call from her ( biological ) mother and excuses herself. You let her speak on the phone with her mother and she speaks a language that's easily recognizable for others, but not so recognizable for you because you never learned any other language growing up except English. ( only American English ) Kitty hangs up and you tell her you're gonna ask her something with no intent to be disrespectful.
Kitty: Go on and ask. I don't mind.
You ask her what language she speaks and you also ask to confirm if the language she just spoke was her native language or a language she just speaks.
Kitty: Spanish is my native language. I moved from Mexico when I was 3 ½ years old and now I live here.
You express a feeling of amazement and grow an interest to learn her language. You ask if she can teach you some words.
Kitty: Of course! I love teaching other people new things! Repeat after me: ¡Buenos días!
You repeat what she just said and ask what that meant.
Kitty: That means " Good morning ". Now, try this: ¿Qué te gusta hacer?
You repeat every word carefully as she translates. You start to wonder how an enthusiastic girl's voice is so smooth and worthwhile to listen to. You start to get the pronunciation of the words in Spanish correctly. Something then clicks in your mind and you ask what time it is.
Kitty: It's... 5:30 ( half past five ← how the British say it )
You then remember you were supposed to be home at 5 o' clock due to a schedule you're staying on so you can go to work the next day. You tell Kitty you have to go and maybe you'll see her again.
Kitty: Ok! When I see you again, I'll invite you to eat with me and my family!
You say you'll be there when you see her again. You get in your car and drive off to your house. Thinking to yourself, moving to the UK wasn't such a bad idea.
You: - in mind - Maybe on my vacation, I'll travel the wonders of the city. After all, I'd love to get familiar with the place and everyone around here. This is better than living in America.
Now personally, I've never been to the UK but I'm planning on going there. I think it'll be fun. My mom went and she enjoyed it. I think I'll go in a couple of years. Take care of ya'll selves. <3
