A pond was behind the set of trees, with a canoe decorated in flowers waiting for us.

Two paddles rested on the dirt before the start of the pond and I asked him, "Did you set all of this up yourself?"

He nodded his head and picked up one of the paddles, holding the other one out for me to take. As we took a few steps towards the canoe I told him, "This is so beautiful!"

He held onto my hand, helping me into the canoe. I sat down and he pushed the canoe into the water a little before jumping in, making the canoe rock a few times. He sat across from me and it slowly stopped rocking, but I remained holding onto the sides of it anyways. He smirked, "Scared of falling in?"

"Shut up or I'll hit you with this paddle," I said while picking up one of the paddles.

He laughed and picked up the other one, both of us starting to row. We went further into the pond and I asked him, "Have you just been setting this stuff up all day?"

"More or less."

A huge smile formed on my lips. I told him, "I can be surprising too, you know. Why don't I surprise you on our next date?"

"And when would that be?" he asked with a slight smile.

I shrugged, "Whenever. Maybe the 29th? Since we have that fun little funeral thing on the 28th."

He nodded his head once, "That works. Speaking of that funeral, you shouldn't talk to anybody who is attending it. They aren't good people."

I nodded in agreement, not thinking too seriously about his words. I put my paddle down and picked up the bottle of wine he had on the canoe and took a long sip of it. I held it out for him to take a drink too, but he shook his head.

"Why not?"

"Two people drunk on a canoe doesn't sound like a smart idea, Hailey."

I pursed my lips and replied, "You're right."

I put the bottle back to my lips and took another long sip. I lowered it and wiped my lips while smiling, "One sounds fine, though."

He reached for the bottle and said, "No more, baby."

"Who elected you the mayor of me?"

A genuine laugh escaped his lips. He placed his paddle down and stood up, making me lower my eyebrows. I asked him, "What are you doing?"

He started shifting his weight from foot to foot, making the canoe start to rock once again. I gasped and put the bottle down, "Okay, okay! You win!"

He reached his hand out for it, "Hand it over until we're back on land."

I shook my head, "No way in hell I'm standing up."

He started to rock it even more, smiling widely while doing so. I caved in, "Fine!"

I picked up the bottle and stood up, my legs shaking a little as I did so. He stopped rocking it so I could have better balance and I held the bottle out for him to take. He smiled, "Thank you."

I went to say 'you're welcome' and sit down when he started rocking it again. I yelled, "Aero, if you don't stop I'm going to kill you!"

"Yea?" he said in a teasing tone, not stopping.

I nodded my head profusely and he stopped rocking it, making my nerves disappear. I went to go sit back down when my legs lost their balance, making the boat rock again. I tried to hold onto Aero as I fell into the water, the water causing goosebumps on my skin.

As I came back up to the surface Aero was looking away from me, trying to hide his smile. I asked him, "Do you think this is funny?"

I was soaking wet. Thrashing my body around in the water that's probably filled with fish.
