Most of the time when you fall it's pretty fast. Just one blink and you are already on the ground. Not for me, it felt like I was in slowmo and I had no way to catch myself. I was falling straight and had no way of putting my hands out to catch myself. You get the point. I was doomed. That was until I felt an arm wrap around my waist and catch me. As I looked up I came face to face with the shirtless guy. He was so close our noses were almost touching. I felt my whole face start to turn red. One from being embarrassed that I fell and two from how hot this dude was. He had chocolate brown hair that look wet, like he just got out of the shower, it also fell down over his eyes a little bit. His skin was tan, like this dude had spent most of his time in the sun. He also had a good build, like he wasn't buff, but he wasn't skinny. But the main thing that stood out was his eyes. He had bright blue eyes that looked like ice and I have to add they were mesmerizing eyes. You could get lost in them if you stared for to long. To sum it all up, this guy was hotter then any other guy I've seen before.
Next thing I know he is pulling me up to stand on my feet. He seems completely obvious to the fact he was shirtless in front of a complete stranger.
"You alright?" He asked once I was back on my feet and he took a step back from me. He had a concerned look on his face as he looked at me.
I nodded slowly. I didn't trust my voice enough to speak right now. I looked everywhere, but his eyes to avoid getting lost in them. We stood there for a few seconds in an awkward silence. I could feel him watching me. I glanced at him, but mostly avoided making eye contact.
"Um...well, I should go..." I finally decided to break the silence and use my voice. That sounded awkward and I should have said something else...
"Oh yeah! I have to finish getting ready." He responded in a light tone with a smile. "Well I'm glad you are alright! Try not to trip again" He laughed a little.
"Alright..." I mumbled and gave a tiny smile before I quickly fled. He probably thinks I'm weird and socially awkward freak...jeez, I'm so weird and I suck when it comes to boys.
I quickly went back to the living room where Lexi, Caspian and Kat were. There was also a blonde haired guy sitting next to Kat. He had bright blue eyes, but they were more like an ocean then ice. This guy was more skinny then the other guy I fell in front of, plus he was paler. He was wearing skinny ripped black jeans and a fancy red shirt. He also had some sneakers on, that looked pretty expensive.
They all seemed to be deep in conversation, that they didn't notice me walk in. So I quietly sat down and waited until someone noticed me. It took a minute before Lexi finally realized I came into the room.
"Oh! Grace! There you are. We thought you got lost." She giggled as she spoke. They all turned their eyes to me. I suddenly felt myself start to get nervous and I started to fidget with my hands.
I took a deep breath before taking. "No, I didn't get lost." I gave her a small smile and then dropped it.
"Alrighty! Well, this is Sam by the way! He is Kat's boyfriend and roommate!" Lexi exclaimed. She seemed excited for me to meet all of her friends. I don't think she even realized I was nervous.
I looked over at Sam and smiled again. "It's nice to meet you." I said.
"Nice to meet you too! Lexi has told us so much about you!" He replied and smiled back. He had a bright and warm smile. Honestly he reminded me of a golden retriever. It calmed me down a bit. His smile reminded me of my mothers. The conversation didn't go much farther then the quick nice to meet yous.
Soon they all went back to talk and I sat and listened. As time went on more people started to show up. It got louder and the rooms got more crowded. I tried to stay near Lexi, but she would disappear when I looked away for a minute. I hadn't bumped into the guy from the room and I was hoping I wouldn't. Honestly I just wanted to go back to Lexi's and hide up in my room.
I started to push my way through the crowd. By the time I got out of the crowd I found myself at the back door. It was a small sliding glass door. So I slide the door open and slipped through it. I made sure to shut it behind me, as soon as it was shut it was quiet. Most of the noise sounded like it was a couple blocks away. I took a deep breath and finally was able to relax a little bit. I looked around at the backyard. Let me tell you this backyard is huge. They had a big pool with a water fall and a good size hot tub. There was also a lot of seating and trees for shade. I went over to the pool and sat down next to it. I pulled off my shoes and rolled up my pant legs. Then I stuck my feet in the pool, the water was warm. Which is good because I hate cold pools. It was peaceful outside, the sun had already gone down, so the stars were out. You were able to hear the crickets and the other little night critters. I leaned back on my hands and stared up at the stars. I was able to find the Big Dipper and a few other constellations.
"The stars look amazing, don't they?" I jumped nearly falling into the pool. I recognize that voice...gosh why did it have to be him...I hesitated to look back. For one I was worried my face would be bright red. Second of all I was scared I'd make myself look like a fool in front of him again. He seemed to hesitated a minute before he sat down next to me. He left enough space it didn't make me feel uncomfortable, but I was still nervous that he was sitting next to me. I kept my head down and started to fidget with my hands. As you can tell I'm not the greatest when it comes to talking with guys. I've had to many treat me not so great that I get super nervous and avoid guys at all costs. Now I'm not saying all guys are bad, I don't know if they are, but I'd rather be safe then sorry.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you!" The guy said breaking me from my thoughts. He had concerned look as he watched me.
I took a deep breath before I spoke. "It's alright. I thought it was just me out here..." I replied and glanced over at him. He was watching me with those icy blue eyes.
"Well I just came out here and saw you. I can go back in. I didn't mean to interrupt your alone time!" He said and started to get up.
"It's ok!" I said and looked at him. "I mean you can go back in if you want, but you don't have to..." I don't know why I didn't want him to leave. Usually I wouldn't let a guy sit and talk to me alone, but he seemed different.
He smiled at me and sat back down. He actually had a shirt on this time. He was wearing a flannel shirt with black skinny jeans. He also had chains on his pants and was wearing a few rings on his fingers. He also had a cross necklace on. This guy was hot and had a good style.
"Oh I never introduced myself when I saw you earlier." He said. "My name is Col-" he started to say, but then got cut off by Caspian calling my name from the door.
"Oh um...I have to go, I'll talk to later...maybe." I said awhile grabbing my shoes and standing up. I ran over to Caspian before the guy could say anything else. When I got inside I realized why Caspian had called me. From the looks of it Lexi was blacked out drunk and had decided to pick a fight with another girl...jeez if my night couldn't get any better.
