Meeting the Fans: This Is Us (ON HOLD)

The Interview

NIALL'S POV

As I walked into the room, my eardrums were almost burst by the amount of screaming that erupted. I don't think I will ever get used to this kind of attention. Before the X Factor, I was just a normal boy who walked down the halls of school without really being noticed. Now I can't walk out of my house without girls running to talk to me, screaming my name when I say hi, and asking for autographs.

Sometimes I feel like it's all a dream and that I will wake up and be back where I was before any of this happened. But as I look to my left and right and see my four best friends, I know that this is all real, and they are here with me. And I realize that without all of the fans supporting us we couldn't be where we are today. And it just makes me so happy that we can inspire such dedication from people. That's why I love doing this! It's all because of the fans!

As the cameras flash and the girls scream, I am brought back to reality by Liam saying, "Come on Niall, we have to go sit down."

We all walk over to the stools that the station provides for us. Sometimes they can be a bit uncomfortable, but I don't really mind.

"Everyone say hello to One Direction!!" The interviewer says to the crowd.

Before he is finished speaking the cheers and screams erupt even louder. The boys and I look at each other and smile like school boys.

 "Wow! The reception that you get just by your band name being said is astounding!" he said.

Harry raises his mike to his lips and said, "It really shows the dedication of all of our fans! I know for us, we never will really get used to how they have accepted us so well! We are so grateful to them for all that we have!"

"Yeah like Harry said, we just want to say a massive thank you to all of the fans for all that they have done!" Liam added.

At this point, the fans were yelling, "We love you!!!" I replied, “We love you guys!!"

"Ok, let's ask some questions to the boys now." the interviewer said. Practically every hand in the room went up! The interviewer called on one girl, and she stood up.

"My name is Sarah, and my question is, what do you like to do on your days off?" I spoke up first.

"Well on my days off, I like to play my guitar and watch TV; just normal things really."

"Yeah," Louis said "I like to do a bit of shopping myself, but really just chill out."

"Maybe play some FIFA as well." Liam added.

"Yeah!" I agreed. Someone in the audience said, "Niall would live at Nando's!" I smiled. "It's true; I do love Nando's."

"Did you hear that girls? The way to Niall's heart is to get him Nando's!" Harry said. The audience giggled.

"Ok, another question?" He called on another girl. She stood up and said, "My name is Blair, and my question is, what your favorite food is?"

Zayn spoke up, "Well we know that Niall's favorite food is Nando's!" Everyone laughed, including me. "But anyway," he continued, "Um...my favorite food is my mums cooking. Basically anything she cooks is my favorite."

"Well that was very specific!" Louis said sarcastically. We all smirked. Louis can be very witty at times. "My favorite food is.....CARROTS!!!" He yelled. The audience screamed loudly.

Louis has kept up this joke for some time now. And everyone goes crazy whenever he says it. And we get carrots on stage all the time. It really hurts when they hit you. He just smiled now.

"My favorite food," Harry said, "is called 'Toad in a Hole.' But it's not the way it sounds. It's really good actually!" he added when the crowd looked skeptical.

"I'm going to go with Zayn and say that my favorite food is whatever my mom cooks." Liam said.

"Copy Cat!!!!" Louis yelled pointing at Liam.

"Well you always say the same thing! Excuse me for trying to change it up a bit!" Liam said looking offended. Since I was sitting next to him, I patted him on the shoulder.

All of the girls said "Awww!"

"Ok boys," the interviewer said, "let’s ask another question. He called on one girl in the back and she stood up. But just before she began to speak, she just fainted! The room erupted in screams and gasps! In a few seconds I was off my stool, as well as the rest of the boys. We would have gone over where she was, but the security stopped us.

"Hey is anyone going to make sure she is ok?!" I asked. "Yes, someone is attending to her right now." the security guard said. "Good!" I replied.

"We are going to need you all to sit down!" the guard said. "Yeah come on guys, let’s sit down." Liam said. We all slowly made our way back to our seats, not taking our eyes off of the place where the girl has fainted.

"Ok," the interviewer said, "Savannah has been revived and is ready to ask her question." The crowd cheered.

"My name, as you know, is Savannah, and my question is, How would you approach a girl who is a fan, meaning a regular girl like us, if you like her, since you don't get to spend much time with them."

"Wow! That's a good question." Louis said. "What do you think boys?"

"Um...well I guess it would be hard to work it out, but if I really liked her, I would put forth the effort." Zayn said.

"Yeah, like if you were at a meet-and-greet, I would talk to her and get to know her a bit." Harry added.

"It's really about getting to know the girl before you say anything is going to happen between you." Liam said.

"Right, you wouldn't want to rush things before you know more about them." I said.

"It's really about how much you want things to work. If you are dedicated to that person, then you will make sure that you are there for them." Louis added.

"I think we have gotten off topic!" I said laughing. "Oops!" Louis said. "Ok next question please."
