The low rumble of whispers filled the auditorium when he entered, followed with a thick silence throughout the room. Outside the rain pounded against the metal roof as lightning lit up the sky, not one second later thunder sounded and the whole room jumped in their seats. The principal, Mr. Steirmen gave his usual boring back to school speech while most looked through the windows distracted by the raging storm. I, on the other hand, peered out the window for a different purpose. Ivy, where are you?
The bell rang and students filled out of the auditorium, heading toward their classes. I pulled out my cell phone and tried to text Ivy, but just got yelled at by a teacher. Hopelessly, I walked to class.
Social studies was uneventful. Mrs. Grielle, the teacher was yelling at the class for being late when I walked in, so now I have detention on friday.
After a long, dull, hour the bell sounded, and following close behind was the screeching of chairs. Everyone was eager to get to lunch, I however stayed a little behind.
"Mrs. Grielle?" I asked, walking up to her desk.
"Yes, hon," she said, not looking up from her paper.
"Have you seen Ivy today?" I questioned.
Her tone abruptly changed, "I was going to ask you the same," she said, raising an eyebrow, frowning.
"Oh..uh.. well I haven't, um.. thank you, bye!" I responded hastily, and then rushed out of her classroom. I shouldn't have said anything. I thought
I was so lost in my thoughts I didn't notice someone walking in the opposite direction from me, and slammed into them.
"I'm so sorry," I apologized, gathering my books. That's when I realized I ran into Tyler Green, like my crush Tyler Green, yeah, that one.
"It's not your fault, I should've been looking where I was going," he said in his perfect voice.
He was way out of my league, I knew that. He's like the most popular boy at our school. He just broke up with Veronica, his girlfriend, well now his ex. I was much lower on the social scale. He also has three dogs. I have one. He has been in five relationships. I've been in none. It's not like I stalk him on Instagram or anything though.
"Oh hey, it's you," he said.
I shot him a confused look and he quickly explained, "We went to summer camp together,"
"Oh, yeah, I remember that. But wasn't that in like, 6th grade?"
"Yeah," he laughed.
"You have a good memory," I said.
I looked into his blue eyes, deep like the ocean. I could stare into them for hours. His perfectly parted light brown hair and his chiseled jaw made him even more dreamy.
"Thanks," He responded, "Well, I got to go," He held his hand out, offering to help me up. I took it, of course.
"Thanks," I said in return.
"See you around," He replied, and walked away. I yelled bye but I don't think he heard me. That didn't matter. I just touched his hand and I'm never washing it again.
