The Cage

Chapter Two - The Middle of the Storm

I woke up in the middle of a cage. It was dark out and I knew my family had to be looking for me. There was something about the wall in front of me. It looked like a moving wall, you could probably move it over and get out. "Hey, what's your name?" A girl next to me said with happiness in her eyes. "I'm Crystal, but my real name is Judy."

"Did he change our names?" I loved my name. How could someone just change a name into a rock? I'm sorry I don't like to be named after a rock...

"Yes, for some reason he is in love with precious rocks. I bet your new name is Ruby!" Crystal said thinking this was a game show.

"What is this place?" I said with wonder. "Why are we here?" There was this burning sensation in the back of my throat begging for me to get a drink of water, but I ignored it.

"I'm going to tell you how it works around here... Whenever he comes down you have to say 'Hello Diamond' with cheer in your eyes. You have to hope that he is in a good mood, so we can get whatever scraps his dog left over. I know it's gross but you will just have to accept it. If he is in a bad mood he will drop you out of the cage and beat you. Place you back in the cage and then leave, giving us no food. Got it?"

"Why does he do this to people?" I cried.

"He says that he is saving us from the world. That all of those nasty boulders are taking over. Boulders he means the rich. When he sees an innocent girl, he takes her to save her from the greedy men that will use her. He sometimes takes some of the rich down here and kills them so there is 'one less he needs to worry about'. Then he spends the next few hours cleaning it all up; to stop that he started covering the place with plastic wrap. So, all he needs to do is replace it." Crystal explained to me. But all I got was he was a kidnapper and a murderer. He was also a crazy psychopath! Ugh!

I have to get out of here somehow. What if I get beat? Could I just pretend to be dead after he beats me, so I can get out? But what if he sinks me in a lake? I will just get away before that. Is that possible? I hope it is. "Will we ever get out of here you think?"

"I have no clue, but if police search the house the one thing he messed up on was to not put soundproof walls. So, if we hear police we can scream to them where to find us."

"I know my family is looking for me, they have to be. And once my boyfriend finds out he won't sleep until he finds me. Now that I'm starting to think about it we were in that car for a long time. He took me really far away..." I stopped. What if they don't find me, what if there aren't looking, and what if they don't even know I'm gone! Then I noticed there was a third cage, what was in it? I tried to swing the cage around, since it was hanging from the ceiling. Then all I saw where little chubby feet. A baby! "Uhh why is there a baby in a cage?"

"Oh him, haha he's my baby. Diamond and I had a child together!" She said this like it was normal. Why? Is he going to try and have a baby with me? Ugh! I can't take this anymore!
