jisung kept living his life, unaware that he was now being kept an eye on. minho had always dismissed him before but now that he knew he was there, he realised that the boy's personality was actually really loud.

he tucked in his uniform and always had a belt on, showing off a tiny waist, and his sleeves were usually rolled up. he didn't look like the other boys at school and minho couldn't determine whether or not he liked that.

"heyo. everything alright? you look distracted," hyunjin asked minho with a grin after dance class was over and they walked into the dressing room.

"nah, i'm good. just been a little stressed about all the projects this semester," the boy responded flatly.

"yeah, that's what happens when you pick a random boy as a partner. does he even understand mrs lawrence when she speaks?," the taller continued, genuinely wondering.

"he seems to. he had even taken notes in her class. we'll see what we can do about the presentation on friday..," minho mechanically spilled.

"this friday?," hyunjin asked and earned a nod, "you can't. the teacher just changed the rehearsals. now we'll be having them on friday, after school. weren't you listening?"

"what? when did he even say that?," the shorter was perplexed. he remembered that jisung knew he was a dancer. was he in the dance club? maybe last semester? no, probably not. then had he watched him before they met that day?

when minho finally came back to reality he was already alone. he blinked, twice, and realised that the hallways were filling up. lunch time. and he needed to find han.

"oh," jisung greeted with a nod and a smirk, "didn't expect you here. you need something?"

"yeah, hi," minho started and felt the corners of his own mouth lift up too.

"sit down, please, take a tug. it's your stuff," the shorter licked his lips and winked. minho took a deep breath but shook his head.

"no, thank you. i don't smoke at school," he returned but sat down, kind of like a dog that was given a command.

"no? where do you smoke then? you get high with mr song and seyoung before your parents get back?," jisung laughed and took a tug.

"i just need to stay fully concentrated while i'm here. and it's easier to do it in my house," minho explained.

"ah, so you suffer through the entire day here and then you go home to roll on the couch in the opiate scented purple house?"

"no. i do it in my room. on the balcony. and then i do my homework," minho corrected spitefully. he didn't even know why he was explaining this, he just got asked a question and he answered it.

"wow. you're such a bore," jisung whined and rolled his eyes. his pupils were dilated and his dark eyes looked so pretty from the close distance minho was at. they were so reflective and shiny.

"yeah, but at least i'm not risking getting caught," the taller replied, "i'm alone in the house and everything is fine."

"you're smoking weed like a wimp. adorable," jisung commented with his usual condescending smile that made minho press his lips together, "anyways, something new? or you just came to see me cause you miss me so much?"

his lashes fluttered and he licked his dry lips again.

"my teacher wants to have a rehearsal on friday," the taller replied immediately, as if snapped out of his slumber, "can we switch to thursday?"

"ugh, i changed my rendez-vous for you but i guess i can make that work," jisung nodded and finished his cigarette, "anything for you, golden boy."

"thank you. i'm sorry, i really can't get out of this."

"whatever. did you get my study on the movies?"

"yeah. i really liked your essays-"

"yeah, they're old. i did something of the sort in middle school," the shorter interrupted dismissively, "i saw you started the visual aid."

"uh-huh. do you have something you'd like me to put into the powerpoint?"

"nah, you do you," jisung returned, "maybe we should go back then? i mean, if you don't have anything else to discuss with me?"

"uh? no, no, i don't. maybe.. um, meet me here after school, right?"

"deal, and don't sweat it, golden boy, we need your charisma for this presentation," jisung bounced to his feet briskly as he was speaking and winked again when he was done. the obnoxious smirk looked somehow kind now.

and then he was gone. minho was having trouble keeping track of the people he was speaking to. but smoking during school? what a reckless exercise! he took a deep breath and entered the building again through the window, just in time for the bell to signal the start of class.
