Believe it or not, I was never in a vault. Neither was Leo, my husband. We're immoral, so the nukes had no effect on us. But I'm jumping a but ahead. Before the war, it was always the three of us, me, Leo, and codsworth. We bought him so we would have some company in the inevitable chance of nuclear warfare (and I'm glad we did so too). I ended up getting a job as an animator and Leo worked as a mechanical engineer. Because of my work, I was home most of the time working on projects. However, I wasn't always working so in my free time before Leo got home I'd either mess around with my powers to see what weird creature I can scare codsworth with (it was all out of good intent and he found it amusing) or we'd just watch old movies. When Leo got home, it becomes even more fun. We'd all just end up doing hell knows what. Sometimes we would play a board game of sorts (which usually ensues chaos and codsworth would end up having to mediate (I swear we're a happy couple, I just know he cheats. After all, he was a magician when I met him). Other times it would be just telling random jokes and seeing who would laugh first. Then we heard about the nukes.

"Oh dear. Sky, Leo, you might want to see this!" I ran into the living room with Leo. On the TV, it was broadcasting the news of confirmed nuclear detonations.

"Oh shit... Leo you owe me $50." We ended up dying laughing at it, much to codsworth's confusion. We were told that everyone in sanctuary was cleared for entrance to vault 111 (one we forfeited purely because we wanted to stay together when the nukes fell) so we didn't worry about if they were going to be safe. As for everyone else, well, it took years to make codsworth finally understand that we simply can't save everyone. We may be immoral but we still get exhausted. When the nukes actually fell, it was blinding. Everything went hot for a solid minute, then completely silent.

"Leo? Codsworth? You two okay?" I heard a cough and a whirl that made me confirm that they were okay. I pulled the two into an embrace.

"I don't know what I would do without you two... "
