Chapter Two

  Three years later, Sonic decided to have a party in his department, even though he is having a bad mood for a celebration. When Sally saw Sonic not enjoying the party, she decided to see what's been bothering him.

Sally: Hey Sonic, lighten up, it's a party!
Sonic: So?
Sally: It's time to celebrate! Come on and enjoy the fun.
Sonic:(Smirks) I'll enjoy the party if you kiss me.
Sally: Okay.
Sonic/Sally:(Kiss)
Sonic:(Remembered Something) (Gasp) (Pushed Sally Away)
Sally: Oof!

(Two Hours Later) (After the guess leaves)

Sally: Why'd you do that?
Sonic: We could've got caught.
Sally: You're worried that we could get caught? But you ask me to kiss you, and you do know eventually we'll have to let everybody know about us right.
Sonic: I know Sal. I just think we should probably wait a little longer.
Sally: Why?
Sonic: Some people might think of us differently... (Holds Sally's Hand) and I don't want anything to happen to you.
Sally: That's sweet and all Sonic, but you don't have to worry about me. And by the way, are you saying that I'm week?
Sonic:(Chuckle) Of course not. I know that my amazing girlfriend is stronger than any other princesses that I know.
Sally: Sonic... I- (About to Kiss Sonic)

RING!

Sally:(Notice her cellphone is ringing.)
Sonic: Who is it?
Sally: I don't know. (Realizing it Ken Khan) Oh, it's Ken Khan. Do you mind if I-?
Sonic: No, go ahead.
Sally:(Goes Outside) Hey it's been a while. (Shuts the door)

(Thirty Minutes Later)

Sonic:(Kept wondering why Sally is taking so long.) (Listen to the conversation at the door.)
Sally:(Still talking to Ken Khan) Yeah, I know. I just don't want things to get awkward between us.
Sonic:(Confused) That shouldn't mean anything...right? (Keeps Listening)
Sally: I think we should get back together.
Sonic:(Shock) Wait...what?!

  After Sally was finishing talking to Ken, she said goodbye to Sonic because she knew it was getting late, and kiss him on the cheek, which still leaves Sonic a bit worried. So, the next day Sonic called Rouge to ask her to come to his apartment because he knew that her parents are friends with Sally's parents.

Rouge:(Arriving)
Sonic: I'm so glad you could make it.
Rouge: Is something wrong, you seemed upset on the phone?
Sonic: Well since you know Sally more than I do, I was wondering...do you know if something happened between her and Ken Khan?
Rouge: Well, I do know that in high school, they were betrothed.
Sonic: Meaning?
Rouge: Meaning that they were going to be married to each other.
Sonic: What?! (Upset)
Rouge: Why do you care; I mean don't you hate each other?
Sonic: ...
Rouge: Sonic?
Sonic:(Sigh) Thank you Rouge.
Rouge: Sonic are you okay?
Sonic: Yeah... I just want to be alone now.
Rouge:(About to leave) Sonic, I'm about to go; are you sure you're alright?
Sonic:(Smiles Awkwardly) Yes, Rouge... I'm fine.
Rouge:(Sigh) Okay! Just call me over if you need to talk. Bye, hon!
Sonic: See you later...
Rouge:(Leaves)

  After Rouge left, Sonic couldn't believe that Sally was supposed to marry someone else, and he wondered if Sally still has feelings for Ken Khan. One hour later, Sonic went to Sally's apartment to find out if she loves him or Ken Khan more.

Sally: Hey Sonic!
Sonic: Hi...
Sally: What's wrong?
Sonic: Sally I just need to know something. Do you love me or not?
Sally: Sonic, what are you talking about? I do love you!
Sonic: Then how come when you were on the phone with Ken, you were talking about getting back together?!
Sally: As friends Sonic, nothing more. Besides, he's already with somebody. All I know that it's some girl.
Sonic: What?
Sally: Yes Sonic, he has a girlfriend!
Sonic:(Upset)
Sally: Sonic? (Hugs Sonic.)
Sonic:(Pooches Sally) Why should I believe you?!
Sally:(Angry) Because it's the truth!
Sonic: Well, it's also true that you two were betrothed!
Sally:(Slaps Sonic in the face.)
Sonic:(Couldn't believe what Sally did to him.)
Sally:(Couldn't believe what she just did.) S-Sonic! Sonic, I didn't know what-
Sonic:(Stopped Sally)
Sally: S-Sonic I'm sorry...
Sonic: Stop it.
Sally: What do you mean?
Sonic:(Angry) You with your mood swings! One second everything is all nice and dandy, and then the next- we're at each other's throats! I can't take it anymore! We're done.
Sally: Sonic you don't have to do this! Besides, think of all the times we had together... Think about us.
Sonic:(Upset) Look Sally I don't know about you, but I don't want to be in a relationship with someone I can't even trust.
Sally: But Sonic-
Sonic:(Stopped Sally) Good-bye Sally. (Leaves)

  After Sonic left, Sally ran to her bed and started to cry, because Sonic broke up with her. When Sonic arrived at his department, he started to feel very disappointed for ending his relationship with Sally and started to wonder if there was a misunderstanding. Sonic and Sally have been seeing each other's in class but didn't talk to each other. Sally has been trying to call Sonic, but he never answers his phone, which leaves her very worried. So, Sally decided to go to his department to see if she can fix their relationship problem.

Sally:(Knocks)
Sonic:(Opens the door) (Upset) Why are you here?
Sally: Sonic, I know what I did was unexpected, but I was thinking if we can put the past behind us and maybe start over.
Sonic: Did you think with that apology, I would take you back?!
Sally: Sonic!
Sonic: Just stop...please.
Sally: I never meant to slap you in the face.
Sonic: I'm not mad because of that! You trusted me Sal, and I trusted you, but then you just had to go...and...
Sally: Sonic, do you honestly think that I would deliberately do something like that to hurt you?
Sonic: I don't know.
Sally: Well perhaps if I explain everything that happened, you'll change your mind. Me...being betrothed to Ken Khan happened way back before we started dating. His parents are a royal family who rules the Dragon Kingdom. His parents and my parents thought that to protect the Dragon Kingdom, is for me and Ken to get married in the future. We have been starting to get to know each other in high school, and then we started to go out on a date together. But when we became seniors, we began to argue. When I found out that my parents were going out to solve another kingdom problem and left my brother in charge, I knew I had to support my brother in his duties. So, I decided to take some homeschool classes and give advice to my brother. Then five weeks later, Ken came to our castle very angry because I wasn't spending more time with him. I try to explain to him why I haven't been going out with him, but he refuses to listen and decided to end our relationship. The whole event is a part of my past that has been tormenting me just before I came to college, but after we started going out together, it helps me to forget all the pain I have. And I would do anything to protect you, just like you always protect me.
Sonic: Do you mean that?
Sally: Yes, I do... Because I love you.
Sonic:(Shock) (Kiss Sally) I love you too, and I'm sorry I kind of caused all this.
Sally: It's alright; you were just upset. I understand that.
Sonic/Sally:(Kiss)
