Fate's Emergence

" Stress not what you can't control , create from what you can ."

The sins all gathered around the fire in makeshift sleeping bags . The twins were the only ones prepared for a journey of this caliber . One by one they each drifted off leaving Alizae and Marisol up to tend the fire and guard .

"It was really nice of you to volunteer on guard duty ." Alizae spoke tenderly as she looked into the night sky . Roughly five hours before dawn Nobi and Pegasus were off as the best buds they'd soon become .

"In my Kingdom no one guards alone . Pairs are more than ideal ." Marisol snuck a look over her shoulder at Alizae . She had noticed and a small smile crept onto her face .

"If I didn't know any better , I'd think you've taken a liking to her ." Ensosin said timidly , attempting to not wake the others . With all seven dragons present there were no private telepathic links anymore .

Alizae turned her body to face her , "Ensosin , I'm glad you know better then ." Marisol chirped averting her attention back to the fire . Poking and prodding , her anxiety only grew .

"It's okay Marisol , I won't tell ," Alizae got up from her post near the shore and made her way to Marisol , "It'd still be guarding if we walked the perimeter correct ?" Marisol got up immediately and pulled a coat over herself .

"Technically , yes . Nobi , watch the others please !" Nobi's head popped up from Pegasus' side , chirped then instinctively came to aid by the sleeping sins . Pegasus followed suit and sat near Nobi as she stood .

He nudged her to continue playing but she snapped her beak at him softly , signaling now was not the time . Alizae wrapped her arm around Marisol as they begun their walk .

"Wait we need light if we're 'paroling' ." Marisol ran back to camp , tearing a random fabric and wrapping it around a nearby stick . She had only left to get out from under Alizae's arm .

Sticking it into the flames it instantly caught fire . Rushing back to Alizae's side , she held the torch lowly between them . As they wandered through the forest they let silence into their company .

"Moo said I should name Pegasus but I still can't come up with a good name for him ." Marisol moved the torch to her side to examine the dark woods . "Well he's a bit skittish  isn't he , name him something powerful . It'd have a lot more meaning ." She advised .

Alizae shrugged once again stumped . She turned her attention to what caught Marisol's eye and stopped in her tracks . "Put the torch out ." Alizae said confidently but Marisol didn't listen , she planted it into the dirt a ways back and then walked quickly to catch up .

Something had illuminated the forest with bright blues . "I think we should go ." Alizae said and begun walking toward it . "Go back to camp , I agree !" Marisol watched Alizae wander deeper into this strange part of the forest .

Marisol followed reluctantly , 'this is irresponsible ,' she thought to herself .
Coming up to a clearing full of mushrooms , a ranging variety of : tiny through gigantic , slender and bulbous , bioluminescent or otherwise plain , spotted and striped .

"This is amazing ." Alizae said as Marisol spun to take in her surroundings . The wind was blowing a soft breeze from the north , they could smell the mushroom pollen in the air .
