"You're not exactly good at English class but you say the words in your songs quite great, Hanamaki-san. I wonder how you're doing that?" A classmate of the called girl suddenly asked her, making Towa startled at the unexpected question.
Why do you ask?" Towa tried to avoid the topic but isn't doing what she intended to do.
"It came to mind and it kept on bugging me. " the classmate scratched her head as she pulled her chair towards the idol inspired girl. Then an idea popped into her head made her feel guilty. "Ah, you're probably doing English lessons in the agency. Sorry, I asked."
'She's not exactly wrong, but...'
"It's fine!" Towa assured the girl who only had a guilt expression. "It's really fine and you're not wrong. We do have those lessons in the agency."
" .. I was right?" It took me awhile for the girl to process but she immediately smiled when it did. "Thank goodness. I thought I was making you feel uncomfortable."
Towa smiled back at the girl as she cheerfully left Towa alone. Towa nested her head in her arms, taking a sigh of relief.
'I can't tell her that I also learn privately with someone.'
"Towa?"
"Eh? What, Noa?" She gets flustered seeing the blonde walking beside her.
"You're spacing out. Are you not feeling well?" Noa asked the shorter girl with concern.
Towa only shook her head. "I'll be fine. " she replied to the blonde with a wistful smile.
That smile widens when she sees the familiar crepe store off the street and pulls Noa toward it.
'I was worrying for nothing. Look at that smile.' Noa couldn't help but smile seeing the usual bright smile on her cheerful girl.
Noa further furrows her brows, eyeing the clearly slacking off Towa by her side bedside. Towa had her back face towards Noa, still munching off her crepe.
"Hey, we should start with the studying already. You can't escape this while you're procrastinating, Towa. " Noa tries to get the other girl to at least look at her way, but apparently it didn't work. With a belief that Towa will sooner or later join in if she doesn't call out to her and just stay quiet, Noa starts on her own and read over the lyrics and her notebook.
Just as Noa had predicted, Towa slowly scooted over to her side.
"You finally got the spirit to study?" Noa doesn't mind that Towa is leaning on her side, though it does actually make one of her hands hard to move. Still it doesn't make the small smile leave her lips as her eyes are still focused on the piece of paper in her hand.
"...Yeah. Which part are you on now?" Towa looks over at the things on her table while still holding onto Noa's side.
"It's the second half already. I just finished on the first part, read the over. I made it easy for you to understand." Noa hands the other girl the first page of her lyrics and half of her notebook. She is seriously writing down parts that seem complicated for Towa to say.
Towa just can't say anything else, seeing Noa work hard like that. It seems like a different person when they're alone together or just when Noa feels like teasing Towa. Even at times like these, Noa is being a reliable person and it still throw's Towa off sometimes.
Well she can't also say that their fights are made up or anything, it's all true. They bicker at the smallest of things or just the things they like. They even have big misunderstandings at Times, it would be hard for the both of them to make up. But with the presence of the other Photon Maiden members, it takes just a few minutes for them to make up. Like close friends.
"You're really amazing, Noa." Towa says in awe as she reads the written text on the called girls notebook. "So how do you say this part? Is it 'irumineyts'? I'm reading it based on the katakana you wrote it with."
"Close. It's similar, but I think you can say it better. It's 'illuminates'." Noa put down her pen and looks over at Towa. Say it again."
"Illumineyts?"
"One more time."
"Illuminates?"
"You got it this time. Good job."
Noa reaches the top of Towa's head to stroke it while Towa gets embarrassed by it. Noa smiles at how Towa is reacting, all the more so that she knows that Towa doesn't know her expression she's making at the moment.
"We've still got the rest of the lyrics to go. Let's both do our best. I'm just a little ways off the end of the lyrics so I'll be able to help you soon as I'm finished." Noa makes a move to get back to her hands but is stopped halfway which in turn made her look back at Towa.
"Actually, a classmate asked me something during break. Towa takes Noa's hand and looks into her eyes. "They asked how I managed to say the lyrics of our unit's songs when I'm not particularly good at English. Your face was what appeared in my mind that moment, but I was unsure of what I was going to say. I didn't say anything about you teaching me even after a lesson."
"That's kinda embarrassing when you say it straight like that." Noa averts her gaze to the side of Towa's.
"You were worried earlier. I just thought to get that out of my system." Towa shows the other girl her bright smile and lets go of Noa's hand. Her attention back into the translation written by the other girl who is now dumbfounded.
'What the heck, Towa? You got me all embarrassed then you go back into the lyrics...' Noa snaps herself back into working order, but the light of blush on her face stayed. She shuts her eyes closed then back open before looking straight back into the lyrics and picking up her pen.
It only takes Noa a few more minutes to finish what she needed to do for the rest of the English lyrics for Noa. Hearing Towa trying to say all the words right while she was finishing up was just cute music to her ears, she couldn't stop her lips from smiling.
Just like that, Towa is forgiven.
No, not actually. Noa makes sure that Towa gets the words drilled into her head for her to sound even more amazing in songs.
Towa is tearing up at the devil teaching class and Noa is showing mercy.
So when they finished, Noa immediately apologizes by pulling Towa into a hug and pats her head like a job well done.
'Now that's a proper payback.' Noa smirks at seeing the reddening ears of Towa.
"Let me go, Noa!" Towa tries to get out of the hold, only trying. Not actually making any moves to get out of the embrace, just acting out. She later eases out on the little tantrum by reciprocating the action. "...Thank you again for teaching me. I'll ask you again when I forget.
"What are you saying? You don't have anyone else to rely on but me."
"That's true." Towa giggles at the straightforward reply,
Another day at rehearsals with the rest of the members of Photon Maiden.
Towa and Noa are in another one of their bickering fights.
"Ibuki-san, they're fighting. We have to stop them." Saki steps out from her behind her turntables before she gets stopped by Ibuki's arm.
"No. They are not fighting, Saki. They are flirting." Ibuki makes a point before thinking of what she could do to get back to practice.
