I dashed past the annoying guy who almost broke my bones less than a minute ago and climbed up the stairs as fast as I could. It was so embarrassing to even gaze a look on others. What would they think of me? The floor girl? Fallestina? And hello this is New York! I'm pretty sure that at least one of the people who stared at me with disgust has recorded the scene. I might probably go viral within about 3 or 4 hours... Yeah! Toast for me becoming the dumbest kid in the whole universe!
I mean what could possibly go wrong...right? I'm just going to hit a million views and umm... probably going to get a new name tag #Princessfallestina on my first day at school. That's all! Nothing to worry about! This is totally normal!
Students rushed and brisked along the hallway like fierce ants. I finally managed to reach a clearing with nothing much more, but, a lengthy row of classes that went all the way up to a giant glass window. I walked along the wooden-floored corridor-way cluelessly.
Suddenly a girl with warm ivory skin stepped in front of me, her emerald green eyes glaring in my direction. It was the girl from before; the girl who followed that guy who dumped me into the ground.
''Hi! I'm Rebecca'' she said. '' I saw you earlier, I bet you didn't notice me tho'' she said with a broad smile on her face. '' No... I did see you, you were the one who walked behind that guy '' I exclaimed. '' Yeah, I'm really sorry for not helping you earlier...I - '' she prattled.
'' No it's ok, I wasn't really expecting help from anyone, and by the way, I didn't stay there for too long. It would be too awkward if I just stood there after what happened'' I said looking into her face.
''Yeah... Jase is always like that. Always in a hurry! He literally lives by timetables and deadlines'' she said. ''Umm... Who is Jase? '''I asked in confusion. '' My cousin; Jase is my cousin. The guy that dropped you to...'' she added. ''Oh! you mean that IDIOT'!'' I replied in anguish.
''Yep, that Idiot'' she tittered. '' But, I don't really think he intentionally pushed you tho'' she replied after some time. ''He seems a bit cold and rough from his appearance but he is a very sensitive person in reality '' she said. ''Hmm... never mind; '' I said. '' I'll just let it slide. I'm not that type of a person who holds grudges''
'' By the way, I'm Andria. Andria Rochal. It's nice meeting you'' I said grinning at her. '' It's nice meeting you too'' Rebecca said.
''So are you new to here?'' Rebecca asked while we walked along the hallway.
'' Yeah, I'm clueless right now. This is a lot to take into'' I said. ''By any chance do you know where the 10th Grade is? '' I asked her.
''Yep, that's where I'm headed to. Looks like we are in the same class!'' Rebecca said.
'' Oh! That's a huge relief. At least I have one person to hang out with'' I said beaming at her.
''Yeah... Come on! I'll show you the way'' she said taking the lead.
Her noodle-like curly red hair bounced in the air when she strolled. We took the stairs and reached the second floor. We squished and squashed past through the huge crowd of teenagers that wrestled with each other as they rushed into their classes. Oh, God! Some smelt really bad, they reeked of sweat.
After a long battle, we managed to reach an opening. ''10th Grade'' was written in block capitals above the wooden door of the huge classroom. It was a giant classroom filled with desks and chairs all the way up to the farthest corner. The walls were painted in an oatmeal-colored white - which literally reminded me of corn and cereal, and a huge whiteboard stood there in the front. Beside the whiteboard was the teacher's table where a fancy projector was placed on it.
A lady with black hair and fair skin wearing a pair of reading glasses stepped out of the class cuddling a stack of books in her hand. She was in a black tight skirt and a purple-colored top. Not judging but, her appearance reminded me of a french woman in the pre-historic era. The lipstick that she wore made her look like a zombie due to her snow-like fair skin tone, but apparently, she was beautiful.
'''Hi there. You must be Andria'' she said coming towards me. '' Yes, mam'' I replied.
'' I've been looking for you everywhere Andria. I'm Rose, your homeroom teacher for the next couple of months'' she said.
'' Hello, Ms.Rose! Sorry for being late, I was really confused, I couldn't find the way. Rebecca helped me'' I exclaimed.
''Oh, that's all right dear. Here take these. These are the textbooks that you will be needing for this semester'' she said handing me the pile of books. '' I've got some work to do. Rebecca, please help her with settling, I'll see you both in a few minutes'' she said walking towards the principal office.
''Ah! Stupide moi ! I almost forgot; that's your desk Andria, the one right beside Jases's'' she pointed hastily to the wooden table that stood next to the window.
'Oh... Wait a minute... What did she just say? The desk right next to Jase? Why does this name sound really familiar?
God NO! JASE? The Jase Jase? Oh God, Please don't make me sit beside that dummy, please don't make my life that miserable! ' I said to myself. I kept pinching and pinching myself so that I would wake up from this horrible nightmare, but as usual, things really didn't go according to my plan. THIS WAS REALITY!!! I'm in the same class as that idiot who literally made me paralyze a few minutes ago!
I was so in a good mood when I got out of bed today, but, what could I say, a good mood like is like a balloon, one prick is all it takes to ruin it.
HOW IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE???
I walked towards my desk and sat quietly without even staring a glare at him. Rebecca whose seat was right in front of mine helped me with unpacking. But the only thing that I did was sit on my chair totally mute. Well, I'm not complaining right now, but I really did hope to be friends at least with my desk partner.
It didn't take much longer for him to notice me. Jase glared at me with the most annoying smile and whispered something to the person right next to him in the ear. He stared at me during the whole Maths period and even hit me with crumbled pieces of paper. I was crystal clear that he was up to no good, and in conclusion, I knew that these 2 years till I graduate will be the worst days of my high school life. Jase was the most annoying, irritating human being that I've encountered so far. Why does he even exist?
Dear me! What a sin have committed to deserve such a bad day?
During the last period before the interval; Jase threw a pencil at me. It barely missed my left eye, and I was done with him for good. He crossed the line. I was the one who should be mad at him, but instead, he kept teasing me this whole time. My ears were all red; my face hardened. And without even bothering the fact that 30-40 people were staring at me, I stood up from my chair and quivered at him with rage.
'' WHAT?'' I asked looking into his eyes in sarcasm. My reaction surprised him. Not only him but the whole class, including the teacher, were also amused by my behavior. I was nearly led to detention, but since it was my first day at school I was excused.
