A chance for change

Jasper had always enjoyed the busy streets of New York City. Perhaps it was the collective energy of people in motion, all seeking one common goal - success. After all, it is called the city of dreams, a place where you could become someone and make something of yourself.

Over the past few years, Jasper's strong sense of achievement had carried him to the top of his career.

He was living a life that most in his field would only dream of, yet somehow, the magic of the city was fading. His desire for affirmation and accomplishment were being reoriented towards the need for change, the need for different.

He couldn't quite comprehend this missing piece of his heart, but a deep longing to step out of the safety of "home" had been dancing across his daily thoughts. Like heavy raindrops on a windshield, he could only drive away the beckoning of adventure for so long.

Jasper had spent years in this city sharpening his craft. Creativity came easy to him. Whether through the strings of his guitar or the flick of his brush, he was born to be creative. His intense passion for it was a spark that brought change to the flow of every company he worked with.

Job offers had been flooding Jasper's email of late, and despite his desire for something fresh, nothing had taken his eye.

He lay in bed in the early hours of the morning, trying to imagine where he wanted the next chapter of his life to head. *Ding* a new email popped up, causing Jasper to sit up and glance over at his phone.

"Dear Mr Harrington

I am CEO, Han Sung Soo of Pledis Entertainment. I have been closely following your work in New York and believe you would be an excellent candidate for a new position we have opening up in our company.

We are looking for someone with experience in creative direction and music production to spearhead the creative future of our girl group Fromis_9.."

Jasper was very familiar with Fromis_9 and Pledis Entertainment from his endless korean drama and K-pop binges. Truth be told, he had quite an endearment towards South Korea and its culture, and this job sounded like the perfect adventure for him. He leaned back, and without too much deliberation with himself, he responded.

The next morning, Jasper stumbled out of bed towards the kitchen in search of caffeine. Coffee was somewhat of a ritual during his mornings, the smell, the taste. Maybe it was all a placebo effect, but he still drank it all the same as if his morning depended on it.

*ding* A notification from his laptop almost made him completely spill the coffee he was pouring. He ran over and slid into the chair, quickly opening up his email. "A response from Pledis"

"Dear Mr. Harrington,

We are very pleased with your interest in joining our team. If possible, we would love for you to start effective immediately. We can discuss the position more in depth at our offices here in seoul.

We look forward to meeting you.

Sincerely,

CEO, Han Sung Soo."

Jasper stood up, almost falling over. "Effective Immediately?" He exclaimed, heart racing. He sat back down, gathering his thoughts, and began to respond to the email.

"Dear Mr Han,

Thank you so much for the opportunity to be a part of your company. It is an honor to help shape the future of creativity at Pledis. I will be leaving New York immediately for Seoul. I look forward to our meeting.

With much anticipation,

Jasper Harrington"
