~~~~~~~New York 2016~~~~~~~~
It started 70 years ago, when one man had a dream. A dream of a world where he ruled all. A world where he could take what he wanted and leave nothing behind. But it takes more than one man in this world to accomplish anything, and that is what Steve Rogers understood better than anyone else in 1945.
"Hey, Capsicle, let's get going please or we're going to be late!" Dad taps his watch in frustration. He's always like this when he hasn't had his morning coffee, today more than usual.
I spin around in Bruce's desk chair and prop my feet up on the mountains of paperwork in front of me, god he needs to clear this.
"Relax Tony, I just need to finish sending this text, Y/N where's that send button? This bar keeps coming up." They have a really important Avengers meeting today. Which should actually include me but apparently Fury said it's 'adults only'. Yeah right.
I point. "Right there."
"Got it! Thanks, now we can go Tony."
"Good, Romanoff and Banner have been waiting at the Quinjet with Thor and Barton for an hour already, you know what they get like when they're impatient."
Steve is still slipping on his jacket and shoes when dad says, "This century'd be nice."
"You try being frozen for 70 years." They make their way out of the door and I follow them.
"You know I can hear you following right?" dad stops for a minute to look at me disapprovingly.
"Yes dad." I say, Steve sighs inwardly. "You're supposed to stay here."
"I've got homework though."
"Great then. All the more reason to stay." Dad sarcastically grins and turns to Steve who is still walking. He looks back.
"Tony-" Steve starts.
"Don't you 'Tony' me..you're supposed to agree with me, Mr Responsible."
"Dad my homework is about Captain America and Steve already said I could come with you guys to ask questions on the way."
"Who better to answer questions than the man himself..." Steve nervously chuckles. We all turn the final corridor and emerge on the roof helipad. The view of New York is amazing from up here, I'd never trade it for anything else.
"Finally.." Nat groaned, "We thought you guys were starting world war three down there."
"They nearly did" I rolled my eyes and sighed heavily.
"You know you aren't meant to be here right?" Bruce asked, leaning past Natasha to hear our conversation."For the last time, I'm interviewing the walking fossil for my homework. Go figure.." I wave my hands in the air and climb into the Quinjet. Pulling the seat straps over my arms, I rest my legs on Thor's lap. He's drumming away at his knees and humming to what I think is an Eminem song???
I can't really tell to be honest.
"So Steve."
"Y/n."
"I have questions."
"What do you want to know?"
"Tell me everything, from the beginning..."~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
