26: 𝐏𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐄

With a heavy head, you slowly woke up from your dream yawning as you smelled your own alcoholic fragrance. “I stink” you whined as you raised your arm smelling your own scent again groaning. I love drinking, but the scent makes me want to throw up.

You shuffled on your bed before getting up heading to your shower to take a bath and make yourself nice and neat in front of your teammates.

It didn't took you too long in the shower actually, a simple wash to your body and immediately get out from it. You chose your trousers and a plain oversized shirt before wrapping the Black Bulls cloak around your shoulder locking it on your chest.

You locked your room and turned around seeing Nacht in the other side of the hallway, “good morning shady man” you teased as he just groaned before chuckling a little leaving you standing in the hallway using his shadow magic to leave. Oh come on.

“(Y/N) NOVACHRONO, YOUR BROTHER CONTACTED ME YOU'RE NOT VISITING HIM” Yami yelled from afar as you clicked your tongue covering your ears. “I'm actually on my way, buffed old man!” you shouted back before giggling making your way downstairs seeing Yami with his crossed arms and death glare.

“Oh come on, we all know you're an old man yet still buffed" you walked pass him waving your hands off as Yami started to say his iconic line, “what did you say past hugger huh!” he yelled as you stopped walking surprised from what he said. ‘Past hugger huh, I keep sticking to past that's it?’

“I ain't a past hugger, pea brain bull” you remarked leaving the base using the leaned broom on the wall outside. ‘What will my brother say this time?’

“I told you! Be careful and don't hurt yourself too much, you already risked your life the last time and now you got an open wound!” Julius scolded you from getting a wound during the battle, “says my brother who didn't visit me in the hospital" you rolled your eyes crossing your legs as you sat comfortably whilst Mars scrunched his nose.

“Excuse me, Lady (y/n). Your brother visited you every midnight to check on you, he's way busier than the usual” Mars explained as Julius nodded with his pouting face as a kid.

“Just kidding, I know my beloved short brother would do that--”

“And as your brother, I won't let you do those things again” Julius cut you off as you chuckled approaching him planning to ruffle his hair. “Ever heard a soldier returning without any scratch from a tough fight?” you asked whilst he remained silent.

The whole room became silent that time, no one dared to start a new conversation as Julius decided to make it serious. “Now that you know every single thing, what are you feeling?” he asked flashing his smile towards you as you just leaned your elbow placing your chin on your palms.

“I'm grateful you accepted me” you said as Mars raised a brow, “how about you and Nacht, getting a progress?” Mars asked smirking as Julius smirked back chuckling. “That man said he won't hurt me again--”

“Oh he better won't” Julius warned with his knuckles cracking whilst you pinched his cheek stretching it slightly, “Brother? Don't you want a helping hand? You're still in your kid form” you explained and sat on your seat again.

“I think, you need someone to help you protect the kingdom, we can't let the other countries know you're like this” You said as Julius actually agreed with you snapping his fingers. Mars eventually gave you papers which made you confused.

“Those are contract papers, you'll be announced as the current Wizard queen once you sign those, and of course Wizard King Julius will remain behind your shadow till he returns back to his original form” Mars explained as you checked the papers surprised that you were chosen. You looked up with hesitation carved in your face.

“How am I qualified? I'm actually thinking about recruiting like Yami or William, Nozel or even Nacht?” you asked checking the details of the papers.

“You, yourself is enough to be the next queen, your thinking can make enemies fall for your traps, and your spirit okay?” Julius cheered giving you his pen, “you may think about it and return the papers once you're ready and you decided to sign it--” Julius said before standing up and hugging your tall figure.

“Thank you for staying, and being alive, sis” he thanked you with his muffled voice as you kneeled down hugging him back too.

It's been a while since I hugged him, and thanked him for accepting me as a part of their bloodline.

“I prefer you being short by the way” you teased before bidding your farewell heading straight to the kitchen first to eat something goodies before heading back home.

‘I'm inside my brother's castle, so of course I need to cut some food rights for myself’

“Ah lady (y/n)?” the servant asked as she flashed a smile helping you pack some foods for your group later, “Thank heavens you're alright” she said before pulling you into a hug as you just chuckled smiling. “I miss you too, nanny” who would have thought sneaking in the kitchen would make you meet your nanny who took care of you for such a long period of time.

“And, that's what happened inside the office earlier” you said drinking your juice as Noelle and Asta listened to your short story about you and your nanny. “Your nanny must have missed you so much then (y/n)-senpai!” Asta cheered with his loud voice.

“That made me think about visiting Sister Lily and my siblings” he mumbled yet you just gave him a drink before saying, “Then go visit once you got a handsome free time--” you switched your glance to Noelle and made a thumbs up. “You too, kid.”

“(y/n)-san, about family talks, do Nacht-san have someone?” Noelle asked as you flinched from the sudden topic making you grin. “Just ask him instead” you said waving goodbye before heading to your chambers wishing to have some time for yourself knowing you didn't tell everything that happened earlier.

You opened your door locking it right after you stepped in laying on your bed with your eyes closed reminiscing about the conversation you had with your nanny earlier.

She pulled you into a hug and held your shoulders after, she smiled softly all happy she saw you again after these years of separation. “I know you're in a rush, but how are you? I'm sorry but I overheard your conversation earlier.” she apologized as you waved it off.

“It's fine, it's not that confidential to begin with, plus you're trustworthy” you said sitting on the silver chair with a soft red cushion. “It's been years since I saw you this happy after Nacht broke up with you, I heard you're making a progress, do you two have a chance being a sweet couple again?” she asked giggling.

“Chance?”

“Indeed milady, do Sir Nacht give you signs he wants to be with you again?”

You did not respond thinking of what you could answer to this complicated question.

“If there is, please invite me to your wedding then” she teased before giving you the wine she got from the cellar. “Just keep quiet about the wine, it's for you” she winked and said goodbye.

“Once I become the wizard queen I'll definitely be busier than the usual, all the delegations... Papers...”

You blinked deciding to crouch on your bed as you took a deep breath, “If Nacht and I will be together again, then I should go reject the offer. I don't want my attention diverted to something else” you mentioned looking at the clock, what will you call when there's a pain in your heart when thinking about him but you're not regretting loving Nacht?

You brought your head on your knees and groaned, please if we have a chance then tell me. Don't make it harder for me to move on, there's an opportunity waiting for me, but I want you to become an option that I will choose.

‘Is he really an option to begin with? Or am I just assuming?’

“Please God, I'm begging you. I want to choose the wise decision, please, I hope that decision will make me happy.”
