Chapter 14

"I should probably go see who that is" I whispered.

"ya.." he took a small step back and I squeezed past him.

Amber was waiting outside the stables and as soon as she saw me her eyes went wide. "ohmygod!! I knew it!! There's about to be some major drama" she said, and then walked away.

I walked into the house and when I opened the front door I was shocked. I stood there speechless....it was Jay.

Suddenly Austin was behind me "Who the hell are you?"

"I'm Jay, her boyfriend. Who the fuck are you?"

Austin swung towards me "Your boyfriend?!?!"

"No! Were not dating!! You know that Jay!"

"We technically never broke up.."

"And technically when your going out with somebody you don't ignore them for a week."

Austin stepped forward "I think its time for you to leave."

Jay took a step towards him "and I don't think that's for you to decide,"

Where was Amber when you needed her?? The testosterone in the room was going up way to fast and i had no idea what to do.

Thankfully at that moment Amber came around the corner. "Hey guys, whats going on." 

"Nothing" we all said at once.

"Riiigghhtt. Anyways, I'm assuming your here alone, right Jay? No parentals or anything."

"uh, no, its just me."

"Great, we have an extra guest room you can stay in!"

"Are you sure?"

"I'm absolutely positive."

"Okay, thanks."

"No problem...come on, ill show it to you."

Me and Austin stared at he incredulously and she just gave us an innocent smile. 

As soon as they were out of sight Austin looked at me and shook his head.

"I cant believe you."

"What did I do??"

"You had a god damn boyfriend and yet you were leading me on."

"I told you, hes not my boyfriend!!"

"Well he sure as hell seems to think he is!!"

"I'm telling you hes not!"

"Ya, whatever." he said, and then walked away.

I sighed and went up to my room. So much had happened today and right now I just needed sleep.

Amber came in my room the next morning to wake me up and drive me to school on her way to work. Apparently Austin had to go into school early...ya right.

We got in the car and she gave me a huge grin.

"What?" i asked.

"Well who do you think you'll pick?!?!"

"What are you talking about?"

"Jay or Austin. Who do you think you'll end up with??"

My mouth dropped open "uhhh....probably neither."

She rolled her eyes. "Ya, just keep thinking that honey."

The school day was going by sooo slowly. By the time lunch rolled around I couldn't wait to get home.

Since I obviously couldn't go sit with Austin, I decided to go sit outside under a tree.

It would have been peaceful...if Austin hadn't been giving me dirty looks every few seconds.

After about 10minutes of him doing that I got fed up and stormed inside.

I walked up behind him and tapped him on the shoulder.

When he turned around I said "I told you the truth, whether or not you believe me is your issue, and if your pissed off at me, then fine, whatever....but I'm getting really fed up of all the fucking looks you keep giving me. If you don't like me that much then just fucking act like I don't exist."

He opened his mouth in surprise but before he could respond I turned on my heel and walked out.

After school I decided to go out and groom Zag because that seemed to calm me down.

As I was brushing her I felt someone behind me, part of me just knew it was Austin.

I turned around and sure enough I was face to face with him. 

I went to walk past but he grabbed my wrist.

"Wait, Jenny I'm sorry about last night and today..I know its no excuse but I was just jealous....I'm sorry."

"I told you the truth and you didn't believe me."

"I was mad that he was here. Please forgive me..."

I sighed, "alright, fine."

His whole face lit up. "Wanna go for a ride?"

"YES!!!!"

He chuckled at my response and went to get a saddle.

After he was done getting Zag ready he turned to me. "You ready?"

"Don't you have to get your horse saddled too?"

"Baby doll, if you think your riding alone after last time you are sadly mistaken."

"Whatever" I mumbled.

He pulled me towards him "Your so cute when your upset."

He brushed his lips across my own, just a simple thing that had me tingling, and then he lifted me onto Zag's back.

He climbed on behind me and we took off. 

I was simultaneously holding on to the saddle, and leaning into Austin because of how fast we were going...but he seemed perfectly content.

We went into a trail hidden by the forest that surrounded the large amount of land.

As the sun was setting we slowed down on a hill in the middle of the forest. Austin tied Zag to one of the trees and then we sat down together, watching the sunset.

After a few minutes he put his arm around me and I leaned into him. 

It was perfect....and then it started to rain.

And I don't mean it started to drizzle either, I mean it full out stared to pour...soaking us before we could even stand up.

We got up and I couldn't help but laugh.

He smiled at me and pulled me close.

"Even with mascara running all down your face and your hair looking like a rats nest you still manage to look beautiful."

He leaned in but I pulled away. "I'm not sure if I should take that as a compliment or be offended."

"It was a compliment baby doll."

"Hmph, well I think it was offensive." I said snobbily, while sticking my nose in the air for emphasis.

He chuckled and when he kissed my nose I couldn't help but laugh.

And then his lips were against mine and it was perfect.

Somehow it all worked out in that moment, even the rain made it so much better...and all I could concentrate on was how wonderful his lips felt on mine.
