There were three things you needed to know so you could survive a school full of hybrids.

You first had to know what a Hybrid was, and that knowledge alone would teach you who to hang out with and who to keep close. You then had to know what not to say around one, anything purposefully insensitive wasn't ever appreciated. The last thing you had to know that you never mess with a protective Hybrid's group, which could be made up of anyone.

If you knew all of these things you were virtually set, and if you were new to the school they'd cut you some slack until you'd learned. Every school was different, different variations of these rules were set. If you followed them even loosely you were set for the rest of your years, you gained friends and you gained allies.

Two males could be seen approaching the office, their voices drifting to new ears.

"I'm not sure why we do this." the first had deep voice, deeper than any normal boy his age. It took them by surprise and they could pick up on a slight note of anxiety. "Haven't we told the principal that he doesn't need to look good for new kids..?"

"Multiple times." The second voice was higher, but not like a female's. This person was calmer, and they could hear a protective shift "I'm sorry you had to come with."

"It was my choice." they were almost to the office room "Besides, they can't be that bad..."

There was no reply, only two kids that entered. The duo stopped, and it was possible for them to have been related. Black crow wings folded neatly behind their backs and mops of black hair hung from their heads, the only indication that they might not be related were their faced, one having green-hazel eyes and freckles, while the other had lavender eyes and no freckles. They were faced with ten kids, all of them new.

The one with freckles raised an eyebrow, small hints of amusement found in his eyes, while the one with lavender eyes tapped the first's hand behind their backs, asking to hold on due to a spike in anxiety.

"Alright kids!" The secretaries at the school were rather nice at times, but they really needed to shake off that line for the older teens, those who would be adults in a few years. "These are your guides."

"I'm Whim, and this is my brother Corpse." The male with Freckles wrapped a wing around the lavender eyed male for comfort "We'll take you around the school."

"I'm Hafu." The oldest was a female, black hair hanging to her shoulders. Koala ears clearly said what she was"Thank you for helping us out." She was trying desperate to save attention from being pointed to one of her brothers, who'd snickered at Corpse's name.

"No problem." She had failed, Whim had noticed the small noise. "Let's just go."

The group followed behind as the duo walked out of the office (Whim's wing still around Corpse), an audible whack sounding. Corpse paid no mind, while Whim listened closely.

"Ow! What was that for?!" The higher male voice belonged to the tallest of the group, a guy with curly brown hair and glasses. He wasn't clearly anything hybrid standards, but Whim had a sneaking suspicion there was something under his red beanie.

"Don't be disrespectful, Steve!" Hafu hissed "Way to make a first impression!"

"What? I laugh at Dumbdog's name all of the time!" the other reasoned

"Ranboo's asking who the new kids are." Corpse interrupted Whim's eavesdropping by showing he phone, lit with a group chat message.

"Tell him to get off his ass and come find out." Whim chuckled, knowing Ranboo would have something to say that would lighten his mood.

"I'm putting it in quote marks so he knows it's not me who said it." Corpse gave a soft chuckle.

"Alright, here's the cafeteria!" Whim didn't pay attention, now focusing on the tour aspect "It's easy to find and near the front entrance, and some of the food isn't horrible." They moved on through a hall "This hall's just where the school displays their trophies. It sorta connects the cafeteria to the west wing, which is where people eat as well. I guess it's so the place doesn't get crowded. Up the stairs and to the right is the math and history level, where all classes like that are held. Over the glass bridge and to the left is the Science wing, anything to deal with that study is there. Counseling office is right here next to the bus entrances, and once you go down a little over here to the right is the English wing. One hallway of the level cuts off into the art hall, and once you find that hall remember that two stairwells are a the other corners so you can make it to the Math and History level. You've already seen the Library next to the office but the two hallways branching from there holds the nurse's office which is on the left, while the tech things are on the right. The gym is near the back right of the cafeteria, and the hallway beside that is the music hallway. We have two auditoriums here, and the shady hallways are usually only occupied during lunch."

As Whim was explaining, he felt something brush against his right wing, which wasn't wrapped around Corpse. Smirking, he then snapped the other wing around an invisible body, now wrapped around the figure. A quiet yelp sounded and a figure turned back to their original colors.

"Whim!" the younger male whined "I was trying to sneak up on Corpse!"

The group of ten blinked. The new kid had two-toned hair;black and white. he was the tallest out of everyone and his tail shifted with multiple colors. They could see patches of scaled along his face as Whim's body shook with laughter.

"This is another brother of mine, his name's Ranboo." Whim turned to the group, smiling with the small forgotten memory of snickers. "Anyway, that concludes the tour. Lunch's gonna begin in five minutes, so you may want to get in line before anyone else does; Cafeteria can serve early."

"Thank you for helping us again!" Hafu smiled "It means a lot."

"No problem, just remember the rules and you'll be alright."

The three rules, spoken and unbroken. In place for generations and taught only through language, the one agreement that normal people had failed at.
