THE ACCRETION

Once,
There existed a big tree
In a place quite remote.
A child who dwelt under it,
Grew exceedingly carefree.
He lived on the fruit,
And water flew ceaselessly.
His austere life-
Bothered him quite little.

However!
The inevitable-
Cannot be stopped!
Where exists life...
There's bound to be
The icy clasps of Death!
So, as the pages of time were flipped...

During a grey overcast day,
Lightning struck-
That very tree!
And wrecked it
Like a shattered jewel.

The child grew horrified,
And, so, fled far and wide...
However, he had to return,
To find remains of the tree-
Blackened cinder.
Having lost all hope,
Fear and darkness
Engulfed the kid whole!

And now, on the spot where stood the tree
Rose the shadow of an apparition.
"You have to undo what you've done.
For which, you've to gain
Unparalleled power,
And surpass...
All in this realm of mortality!"
It cried.
The despaired child asked:
"How shall I do so,
Can you hint a clue ?"

The shadow,
Enounced loud-
"Quite not far from here...
There exists a-
Colossal Black River!
And by crossing it,
You will surpass the present,
And gain unequalled power ! "

In the hour of darkness,
When the dimmest ray of hope,
Wafts through the gloom,
One endlessly ebbs towards it.
So, the despaired child,
Stood and wearily strode,
To the edges of,
The Black River.

However!
As he dipped his foot,
Into the Black River,
He came back to his senses-
The water seemed colder;
Than the coldest of hail and snow-
It nearly numbed his bones.

"Tut, tut,
I was forgetful. "
Said the shadow vehemently.
"You must not see what lies inside,
For you're too naïve.
Just be blind for a while;
All will be put back after you gain-
Unparalleled Power! "

Unwilling was the child,
To block out his own sight;
However, the shadow exhorted:
"These sacrifices are small.
All will be restored, once
You surpass the mortal world.
Do make haste!
Whatever stands as a hindrance
You have to stare at it,
Right in the face !"

So, the damned child,
Blew out his light,
For once and for all,
The dark drapes enveloped him.
For now he was blind.

And, he lowered himself down
Swiftly in the dark, swirling
Waters of the Black River,
And then-
All the suffering, and
Agony began to wan;
And was redeemed by
An indescribable inkling.
His fancies to return to the past,
Began to cede.

His fancies to return to the past,Began to cede
