Lydia's pov
It got me by surprise when Devon said he wanted us to meet someone that is very important to him so I decided to bake a delicious cake to them, what if it's his crush?! I need to impress them right?
-Honey!!! Can u help me here pleaseeee? I say it loudly to Claudia
-Darling I know you want to impress them but you could've just buy a cake on the bakery down the street.
She says while getting close to me and giving me a kiss on the cheek, we both smile and laugh as the flour gets everywhere on the balcony.
-I know okay but I want to make a surprise to Dev, his nightmares are getting worse honey... so if I can give him a sweet surprise like this I won't hesitate to do it, I want him to call this house his home someday.
I say with a smile, Claudia just looks at me with a little grim on her face. We both know about his nightmares but we know that he don't want to make us worry but... it breaks my heart to see him like that.
-I know and he's gonna be alright darling, anyway who do you think is this person he's bringing home? She says as she has a huge smile on her face while she mix the dough I prepared.
Her braids were free and were falling on her shoulders, her chocolate brown skin and bright clear brown eyes still hypnotize me to this day. She reminds me of the sun and I can only trust she sees me as her moon.
-Hmm wait a minute, do you think it's the Jake he's always on the phone with?
I say remembering the name of the boy Devon always talks on the phone.
-That is actually a great guess. She says looking both impressed and intrigued at the same time.
I was born here on Hackensack but left when I was still young and Claudia was born in Brazil and came here to work on her company so we are really not familiar with the residents of the city.
The time flew and the very talked about cake was getting ready.
-Also don't forget to check on it so you don't burn it like last time. Claudia says as she chuckles and goes to the living room.
-Haha very funny miss burned rice. I say back as we both laugh.
I'm excited to see their reaction.
