Much to Daniel's disapproval Miguel and Sam moved in together after college. They believed their puppy love would grow into something more. That was far from the case all they've done is argue and when that happened Sam left to go to her parent's house. Well, at least now it was her parents' house until two weeks.
It pained Daniel seeing his princess so upset, so he needed to have a serious talk with the young man. When he drove to the apartment he noticed the apartment building was pretty nice. At least nice for what newly graduated students could afford and not to mention Miguel paid for it due to Sam having a low-paying internship.
When he knocked on the door Miguel answered in just a towel. "Hi Mr. LaRusso," he said. At least he was still respectful.
Daniel came in and immediately got to the point
Miguel accepted he had to give his honest answer. Daniel was here as a father, not his former temporary sensei.
"It's everything. She doesn't trust me, she's suspicious about any woman I'm around despite the fact she still talks to Robby. It's not like I can blame her. I did kiss her while I was dating Tory. It's so complicated. I don't feel like we're the same people when we started dating and now she's dumping me. It's like she doesn't even love me anymore."
Seeing Miguel so heartbroken reminded Daniel of himself. He adored Amanda but matter how much he loved her he couldn't deny the divorce was the best thing for him.
Daniel put a hand on the younger man's shoulder. "I know what you're feeling. I've been in your shoes. If it isn't meant to be then it's just not meant to be." he didn't want to be the reason for his daughter being dumped, but it was better than them hanging onto a failing relationship.
Miguel smiled at him. "I can't take another breakup. I wish someday Sam and I can have the type of relationship you and Mrs. LaRusso have," he sighed.
"Well it wasn't always perfect and it helped to have open communication and just date for a while." Daniel's tone didn't match his he was describing his happy relationship.
Miguel leaned on his shoulder. "Maybe if I could find someone like you?"
Daniel looked into Miguel's big brown eyes. He couldn't understand what it was about them, but he just wanted to make him happy.
His eyes weren't the only thing he noticed. Miguel's legs were also still well toned. Even years after his training with Johnny training Miguel still stuck to the routine. That sheer commitment was amazing.
"So you don't want any scotch, Mr. LaRusso?"
Daniel was so focused on his body he didn't even notice Miguel said something, "You drink scotch?"
"Well legal I'm allowed to drink it, but I only keep it to mix in other drinks. I also like adding little fruits mainly just strawberries and cherries. Sensei calls them 'girly drink' but alcohol is alcohol." he said as he got up. Unfortunately, his towel dropped showing himself in all his nakedness.
"I am so sorry Mr. LaRusso!" Miguel's face got hot as he picked up his towel.
Daniel scolded himself in his head. 'You don't like men. Those fantasies about Johnny were an exception. This is your daughter's boyfriend for heaven's sake!' Daniel knew he had to say something. "It's fine. Nothing I haven't seen before."
Miguel smiled and just left his towel off. Daniel hated how frustrated that got him. He decided maybe he could just look at the wall and hope Miguel would get dressed.
"I've made a Blood and Sand cocktail. Would you like one?" Miguel asked.
"No! I mean I'm good." Daniel stood up and figured it was best to leave. Because it was getting late. It wasn't because Miguel's lack of clothes was turning him on, "See you soon Miguel. I'll talk to Sam. I'm sure everything will ." Daniel didn't even pay attention to what he said but Miguel surely did.
