12 | Christmas Special



9 months later

Our baby boy, Albert was born November 25th which makes him one year old today. It is Christmas day, the most wonderful time of the year.

My baby bump didn't show as much as it did with Savannah which made us quite worried but he came out perfect. Better than I couldve ever imagined and Savannah is more than happy to be a big sister.

The thing is Jadon has been really clingy lately. Well, not really clingy but just sort of showing more love than usual. Not that it bothers me.

We were having a massive Christmas party with all the England players and their partners and kids.

I was wearing the new dress my mum got me for christmas. It's was a green velvet dress paired with a red bag.



We walked into the venue that Gareth had booked. It was beautiful it had white furniture with gorgeous decorations.

Savannah and Jadon trailed on behind me.

As we were walking in, everyone was looking at Jadon giving him sort of encouraging looks. Sort of saying 'go on' but with their eyes. Even Megan and Lucia were giving the look.

Once we settled Savannah down in the play area I took the baby over to talk to Megan and Lucia, who were drinking an expensive bottle of champagne.

"Ah, give us a glass I miss drinking." I said to them holding my glass up so Lucia could pour me some as I had Albert in my other arm.

"Awww he's gorgeous Charlie." Megan said, bopping Albert's nose.

"Yeah but he was a pain to push out." I said making them laugh.

"So what's all these looks about then." I said smiling looking at each of them.

"Well, I guess you'll just have to wait and see then won't you." Lucia said to me making me even more curious.

Soon after she said this my favourite Christmas song started playing. Last Christmas by Wham!

I was swaying Albert pretending to dance with him when Jadon came over and joined us with a beer in his hand.

"Why is everyone giving you looks?" I asked him, slightly shouting over the music.

"Dunno what you're on about, babe." he said with a smirk. Which made me laugh.

I'm not sure what to expect but it must be good if everyone's smiling about it.

We went back to our table to grab ourselves and the kids something to eat. We'll I gave Albert his bottle.

"I love you, you know." Jadon said putting his hand on mine and squeezing.

"I know, I love you too." I said slightly confused why he was telling me this again.

After the kids went back to the play area with all the other kids, there was a slow dance. Megan and Jordan were dancing together, Lucia and Marcus were dancing together (even though it should be me😂😂) so me and Jadon decided we should too.

"Wanna dance?" he said to me, acting as if we just met. I gave him my hand.

As we danced he took his hand away from mine which made me confused. He shuffled us into the middle of the dancefloor and pulled a small box out of his pocket.

I knew exactly what it was my jaw immediately dropped and tears fell from my eyes.

He got down onto one knee, smiling. "Charlotte Baxter, will you marry me?" he said showing me the beautiful diamond ring in the box.

"Oh my god, yes of course." I said as he put the ring on my finger and I kneeled down with him as I kissed and hugged my new fiancé.

We stood up hand in hand to see everyone clapping and cheering. I smiled and wiped the remnants of tears from my eyes.

I guess that's why everyone was staring...
