She was shaking.
Her leg bounced anxiously against the wood, as the metal sigh outside the shop creaked in the steady wind.
She didn't want to do this.
Honestly,
She didn't know why she was.
She heard thuds outside. Restlessness & panting.
They were there already. For her?
She stared at the shattered glass by the shop's door.
She'd broken in. Smashed the window to reach the shop's handle.
She stood, as the door swung open, a harsh gust hit her face as her eyes widened.
"[Name]?" Her eyes trailed behind her woman.
She was accompanied by Vander & Benzo.
Vander exhaled,
Enforcers were gathering. She was being too reckless,
Everything was on the line.
"We don't have much time." He spoke.
[Name] gathered the girl in a tight hug, placing her lips against her forehead. "What were you thinking, Vi?" She questioned.
She just wanted to hold her. To be with her, to remind her that things didn't have to go south.
"How did you find me?" She asked, pulling away.
She seemed shocked.
She just wanted to go home.
But she couldn't.
If the topsiders wanted their pound of flesh, Vi was welcoming them with open arms.
Vander placed his hand on the girl's shoulder, [Name]'s arm still wrapped closely around her shoulders.
They both looked scared.
Vi was scared.
"I'm proud of you," Vander spoke, "always have been."
Vi's lips parted, as she stared through knitted eyebrows. "I'm sorry, I.." she trailed off, finding her mother's face guiding her. She forced it away. Forced her thoughts away, intruding & arguing. "This is the only way to protect the others."
[Name]'s arm slid from Vi's shoulders, as barking grew hostile & violent in the distance.
Her gaze locked with Vander's.
They were hurting.
This would all hurt them more than anyone else.
"Vander!" Benzo called out.
[Name] knelt down in front of her daughter, her hand holding her cheek for the last time. "You have a good heart, Vi." She spoke, "Dont ever lose it."
She didn't want to do this.
In a million years, she'd never thought she'd be able to bring herself to.
But if it was to ensure her children were alive then she'd go to any means possible.
