ℳ𝒶𝓂𝒶 𝑨𝒔𝒂𝒉𝒊 (𝙷𝚊𝚒𝚔𝚢𝚞𝚞!!)

Asahi Azumane

{Chapter 1}

As soon as we got the front desk, I spoke "Hi, My name's Asahi Serena. I got a call about my parents and little brother?" The lady looked at me with a sad expression and I immediately knew something bad must've happened and couldn't help but ask "Is Asahi Azumane, my little brother, ok?" The lady nodded and I sighed in relief and she handed me a few papers and then after signing me in told me which room he was in. Me and Zuko made our way towards my baby brothers room, room 127 and knocked on the door.

There was a doctor in the room talking with my baby brother and looked up at the knock. He made his way towards me and asked "Can I presume your Asahi Serena? Asahi Azumane's older sister?" I nodded with a bow "yes, nice to meet you doctor." He nodded in acknowledgement and then asked if he could talk with me. I nodded and asked for a second.

I walked into the room with Zuko and went up to my brothers side and gave him a hug. "Hello, my precious Otouto! We'll catch up in a bit, for now, watch over Zuko for me will you? He is your nephew after all!" And walked out after telling Zuko to stay with his uncle. We were down the hall from the room and talking when he finally told me what happened.

"I'm so sorry to tell you, but, there was a very bad car crash yesterday and your parents died on impact, however, your little  brother was able to make it out with only minor injuries and no severe ones, asides from a few gashes on his forehead that needed stitches."

I took in the information and felt only slightly sad about it. I'm not gonna cry over it though. They took care of me for 13 years then said fuck it and left me to deal with everything, and not even caring a single fuck about Azumane, then having the nerve to yell at Azumane as if he did something wrong?! No, I wasn't gonna cry. But they were our parents, the people who carried us and gave birth to us and at least took care of us for a little bit. They weren't physically abusive from what I know. But they were the definition of negligent and didn't deserve to be parents, and more than likely never will be. Even with them 6 feet under.

I talked to the doctor a bit more before he gave me a card for the lawyer who took on the case and told me to call them when I get the chance, since I have to discuss our parents wills and all that. I also gave the doctor my card so they could take what was needed for the hospital bills. I gave the lawyer a call and we set up an appointment for the next day at 2pm, in order to discuss everything. Then I went back to my 2 precious boys.

As soon as I got back to the room, Zuko ran up to me and hugged my leg, so I picked him up and made my way to the chair next to Azumane's bed and sat down with Zuko on my lap.

"Before you say anything baby brother, we can talk about everything when you're fully healed. I spoke with Doctor Kuseno and he said that I just need to sign a few papers and we can go home, since your injuries weren't too severe and you've already been aknowledged for being ok enough to go home as long as someone is watching over you, which I will be. It's also been a while since we've seen each other face-to-face and chatted, so I'll make your favorite for dinner." I told him as he looked at me with an excited yet sad and guilty? expression. He nodded and replied, "when was it we had to start leaving?" I thought for a second then answered "we can leave in a little bit, but for now just rest while I sign your release papers and get everything ready to go." I said, my eyes softening as I looked at him. He nodded and asked if I needed him to watch Zuko while I did everything. I nodded with a smile and thanked him as I set the sleeping Zuko on the bed next to him, who immediately cuddled up to his side as I made my way out to the front to get the papers.

I made my way back (making my way downtown, walking fast-i'll stop) to the front desk to get the papers. I asked the lady if I can have them and gave her my ID for proof that I'm actually Asahi Serena. 'I have to get that renewed for here if I'm gonna be here a while' I thought while she typed on her computer and printed out the papers, put them together and then stapled them and handed them to me with a clipboard and a pen. I bowed in thanks and walked back to Azumane's hospital room while scanning over the papers.

I got back and they were both sleeping, and I couldn't help but take out my phone and take several pictures of the moment, 'so cute!' I thought as I put my phone away and took a seat near mine and Zuko's suitcase's and got out my glasses. I took them out of the case and pushed them on gently after wiping them and then went about signing the papers.

~ Timeskip ~

I had already got Azumane's things and helped him get dressed, then we turned in his papers and made our way outside the hospital and to a waiting cab I hailed down a second earlier. The cab driver helped get the suitcases in the trunk and as soon as Azumane was in and buckled up, I got in with Zuko on my lap, since we didn't have a carseat here yet.

It took us about 30 minutes to get back home. I payed the cab driver extra since he helped get the suit cases by the front door, then he was off with a 'have a nice night'.



We got inside after Zuko got the keys to unlock the door. "I'm home/I'm back" We went straight to the living room next to the kitchen and Azumane sat down. I got his stuff and put it in his room, mentally nothing that I'd have to clean up the place a bit. I went to my room and it was mostly untouched, so I did a quick cleaning of it, and had Zuko's stuff in there with mine. I had done a quick cleaning in Azumane's room and what I found-my baby brother has a crush~. I went back to the kitchen and took out the food I had brought and stuck it in the refrigerator and then took out the ingredients for Tonkatsu Ramen.

I finished cooking and then we all sat at the table to eat "Itadakimasu~" then dug in.

We were quiet except for the slurping of the ramen, and chewing. I had made a smaller and easier to eat version for Zuko.

When we were finished, I hand washed all the dishes while Azumane and Zuko went to wash up and brush their teeth. I prepared a cup of warm milk for both of them and then set it on the bedside of Azumane's nightstand. I had wrapped up his casts(right wrist & left ankle) then set up the bath for them, as well as got them sleeping clothes(boxers, shorts and a t-shirt for Azumane & a pull-up, and a shirt of Azumane's for Zuko).

When they got out, I went to the bathroom and changed into a wolf onesie with furry ears.

I went to Azumane's room to notice that the cups of milk were done and sitting there empty while Azumane and Zuko sat on the bed reading a book. I smiled and brought Azumane's desk chair to sit by the bed.

"Y'all havin' fun over there?" I asked and they looked up at me and said at the same time "Yea, but can you do what you did all the time before?/mhm, wan mama sing!" They looked at each other and laughed/giggled, and I couldn't help but feel my heart soften at their cuteness. I wished I had met them meet before. I nodded with a small smile, "of course, any suggestions?" They thought about it and looked at each other with proud smiles and answered "I'm coming home!/Comin' ome!"

I smiled at them and made them both lie down and close their eyes as I started to hum and sing.

I had sang with my eyes closed and when I opened them, Azumane and Zuko we're both sleeping, faces softened into a content rest. My eyes softened as I stared at them and I got up from my seat, and then leaned over to kiss both of them on the forehead and pull the blanket over them more. I then stood up straight and grabbed the cups and moved the chair back to where it was, I left a night light on but turned off the big light and made my way to the kitchen to wash the cups.

After that I closed my eyes and took a deep breath then sighed heavily. I opened my eyes to look at the clock and it was around 10 at night. I set an alarm on my phone for 5AM, and 1 for 11PM. I set the 11PM alarm because I'd like to clean as much as I can.

I was only able to get the bathrooms, and kitchen, but I'll do the rest the next day and give that lawyer a call. I went to my room and put my phone on the charger then got in bed and fell asleep. I don't notice when Azumane or Zuko snuck their way into my room to sleep next to me, but I'd notice in the morning.
