Who would've known that, Rurahel would die like that.

'I still can't believe it' Arien thought while shaking.

One night had passed and Rurahel's body was still there. Arien only managed to see a glimpse of the body but she's still panicking... I on the other hand wasn't really bothered by the sight of a dead body. She just couldn't get the image of Rurahel's dead body out of her head .

'I feel dizzy and nauseous...' she thought, we squeezed her hand.

"Arjen... Big sis" she whispered "...Idiot. you guys covered my eyes, but you took a look at the body" Arjen scolded.

"Ehehe..." she laughed nervously as Arjen sighed and pat her head "Get better soon Arien" I comforted.

Arjen got up and walked to the curtains "Get some rest. I'll close the curtains." " Okay".

"...Arien, N/n..." Arjen trailed off "Hm?" we asked

"Look at this" he merely said, Arien looked out the window and was shocked at seeing soldiers marching towards the estate 'Golden Armor...' she realized.

'It's the Imperial Palace's knights!'

Gold is the Imperial family's color. There's no doubt that they personally sent the knights.

"But why...? Are they here to hold a funeral for Rurahel?" Arien questioned "Impossible they just walked past Rurahel's body" I told her, despite knowing what they were here for.

We then heard loud banging outside of our room "OPEN THE DOOR!" the soldiers demanded as they marched inside.

"Who told the palace about Rurahel's death?" A maid whispered "W-Were not going to die, right?" Another asked, frightened.

"Are you okay, Arien?" I asked "I feel nauseous" she weakly muttered.

"WHERE ARE THE IMPERIAL HIGHNESSES?!"  "W-We also don't..."

"YOU USELESS MAIDS, DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE YOUR MASTERS ARE?!"

We had our suspicions, but...  We were their objective?!

'Well I already knew but I can't say that' I sweatdropped at how loud the soldiers were.

"Why are they looking for us...?" Arien asked "Did you check under the bed?" A soldier asked "Yes! There was no one there!" "Is it to... kill us?" Arjen questioned "I don't think so" I said.

That's right Illegitimate children are a disgrace to the empire. There is no reason to keep us alive now that Rurahel is dead. We've never caught the Emperor's attention for 5 years, but we never expected to get it this way.

Me and Arjen looked at each other and nodded

"When the sun sets, let's go hide in the forest." I said "If we go up that tree we always climbed, no one would find us there." Arjen continued.

"Okay..." Arien replied

The trees rustled with the wind as we ran "Hold on for a bit longer, Arien" I comforted her "Okay...! huff...huff" she said, panting.
