On April 11, 2003, there was an event that happened and it was treachery. In a
small cottage, there was a small family. That night was odd because it became dark in the
middle of the day. Then a loud noise like thunder, but even louder causing the house to
shutter. The father said, "everyone must make a break for it, and get as far away as they
could."

So one by one the family members fled each one was killed, but one young child by the
name of Stealth. He stumbled into a small village. And passed out exhaustion
overwhelmed him and he collapsed in the town square.
The next morning came and I woke up in a pool of my sweat and blood. I slowly
sat up and shook my head trying to dislodge the nightmare from my mind. I have had it
every night since the event. It has been 6 years since then the villagers have been nothing
but kids to me. One of them even gave me a home to stay in so I have dwelt in it ever
since. I am now 17 years old. And today my life is going to change forever. Today is the
day that the travelers came to the village to trade and sell. So I changed as quickly as I
could.
As I eat my eggs I think of what new news was there going to be this year. Last
year there were tales of Elves coming to Alasrath with horrible horrors. The tales don't
end there was talk of demons, serpents, werewolves, and even immortal Vampires! As I
scramble to finish my food when the bell tolls signalling that the traders have arrived. I
flew out of the door into the sea of tents to find out what new news there was. I walked
up to a tent that was cast in darkness. Mystified I entered the tent when inside there was
an eerie green color and a table with someone sitting at it cloaked. I looked around the
tent to find bows, arrows fletched in many feathers from different birds, and swords made
of iron. I asked the cloaked figure "Why are you selling weapons when there is no evil in
Alasrath?"
"That is where you are wrong my child." Said the cloaked figure as he removed his hood.
To reveal that he was indeed an Elf. My surprise turned to shock.
"W...What do you mean?"
"I mean that evil marches upon this village, so come with me child if you wish to live."
"But how I am supposed to trust a creature that I don't know anything about," I said,
"For there are some things that cannot be explained. For example, I can sense that your
ears are not rounded off that of a human's and that your blood is running with magic in its
veins." said the elf.
I stumble back as if something had hit me in the chest. For how could a stranger know
that my ears were pointed and that I have done things that I could not explain. There in
front of me was my only hope to escape the upcoming darkness in the west. For my
mind had foreseen it. Monsters would come from the west under the cloak of darkness to
kill every human in this small village.
I sighed softly, "Fine I shall come with you, but where do we travel?"
The elf grabs a few things from inside of the tent and starts thrusting them into my hands
telling me, "We travel East, put these on."
He hands me armor made of mithril lighter than steel and nothing can cut it. After I put it
over my clothes he hands me leather armor so that we could travel as fast as possible.
The final things he hands me are a quiver of swan feather fletched arrows, a bow made of
yew wood, two daggers that fit into two slots in the quiver, and finally a long sword that
was to be worn on my waist.
"Let's make haste young lad." He said as the tent vanished in replacement were two
horses. They had strong powerful legs for covering large distances, their bodies were
covered in armor to protect the horse.
"Get on the horse quickly and we will be off." The elf said as he helped me onto the
animal.
"We don't have much time,'' he says as he gets onto his horse and utters the word
"Stärath!"
Causing the horses to jump to life and gallop at full speed away from the small village
that I called my home for many seasons. I have to admit that it was a little sad that I knew
that this village was going to turn into a lake of blood and ash. The ride out of my village
was very chaotic because there was a horn that was blaring announcing that the army of
shadows had come a bit too soon. The elf cursed as we fled from the village in a sea of
villagers that were trying to get onto the horses, but the elf and I kept them at bay until
we left the village and fled into the wilderness. Knowing that darkness was closing in on
our position. We had to flee from the small village because we didn't have that much
time. As we rode our horses away from the village you could hear the blood-curdling
screams of the villagers as they were cut down.
"Why can't we help them?!" I screamed over the whipping wind.
"There are too many of them, and you are not ready to fight a foe as strong as them." He
shouted back. So there I was on the back of a horse riding to who knows where and with
a stranger that all I knew about him was that he was an elf. He could kill me at any
moment. The thought of being killed did not sit well with me.
"We will stop for the night here," said the elf over the screaming winds. And with that,
we made camp by putting up the same tent that was in the village and the strange thing
was that there was more room inside of it than you would even be alive for it looks small
on the outside, but it was more spacious on the inside. That night we ate a small meal of
nothing but vegetables. I know right vegetables! They don't have the taste that you get
from good meat.
