The normal bustle and noise of the Choosing Grounds did not affect Stephinie. Mincrafters pondering with family and friends, advertisers, and just out-loud thinkers nearly drowned out thoughts of any loosely determined person. Not Stephinie though. She was looking for the perfect seed to quench her thirst for a great challenge and adventure.

"Would you like to try out this seed I found Miss.?" pleaded a desperate advertiser.

"Um...no thanks." Steph replied politely, walking away.

The man did not respond only to question the next person that passed by. The walls, floors, and ceilings of the Choosing Grounds were completely white, with little alcoves on the walls where people advertised their seeds to the public eye.

Steph was in the "HARD CORE SURVIVAL" section, meaning the next world she went into, she could not leave until she completed the challenge. If you die, all your progress would be lost, and you would have to start completely over, memory wiped and everything. Her eyes lazily skimmed over the different challenges, none really jumping out to her. All of them were ones she had already done, and had not liked to much.

Often times she would be stopped by an advertiser. And she began to ignore them after her declines got shorter and shorter. Steph had not done too many worlds sense she first spawned. Once you spawned, you go to the tutorial world, where you learn everything you need to know about Minecraft. Then it's all up to you after that. You choose if you want to be solo or work in a group, if you want to do survival or creative, if you wanted to stay on one world or explore many. It was all up to you.

Finally something caught her eye. The "NO TREE SEED." The description under the seed on a sign read, "Experts have traveled this seed, and for miles, there have been no trees. No one as of yet, has completed the challenge of establishing a Nether base."

"Perfect," Stephanie whispered to no one in particular as she tapped the picture twice, and then five seconds later, she felt the cold tundra air nip at her nose. She inhaled the fresh cold air as she crossed her arms over her body to conserve her body heat.

On instinct she started to look for trees. None. Oh yeah...might as well start looking, she thought to herself as she started heading south. Nothing but snow, dirt, and grass for miles. The rithmic drum of her feet against the ground began to lull her into a daze, still allowing herself to be alert for trees, and only trees. Consequentially , she hardly noticed the sun when it started to go down. Oh no i'm not dyeing this early, she thought to herself eagerly. Dismayed but determined, she started to gather dirt, which automatically snapped her out of her dream-like state. Only then did she start to realize how hungry she was as she stumbled on some nearby dirt from the lack of food.

"If I die its not going to be from starvation." she urgently  whispered to herself once again. As she stumbled into a hole in the earth, just as the sun set over the horizon. Luckily it was a dud cave, not reaching longer than ten blocks, though it was regrettably tall at four blocks. Making it twice her height. She started to work on blocking off the entrance and succeeded just as the sun dipped out of view. It was hard to see in the cave for she could not make torches without wood and, the only thing that saved her from complete darkness was the moon, that Steph had left a single block hole in the plain dirt wall to let it shine in.

She curled into a ball arms hugging her knees to her chest and laid her head back against the hard dirt wall. The position hurt her backside dearly, but it was necessary in order to not freeze to death. The stone floor beneath her was cold and unforgiving, all she wanted right now was a nice, warm flint and steal fire place, or at the very least a torch. Is this what freezing to death is like...only thinking about warmth? And the hunger pains in her stomach did not make the situation any better, as they got worse and worse by the minute.

"Hush Steph, go to sleep, you'll feel better in the morning."she whispered to herself. Even as a small voice in the back of her head said "Yeah right".  Stephaine dosed in and out of sleep that night ,never fully dreaming. She would always wake either from the sheer awkwardness of her position, her arms or legs numbing, or just simply waking up. At one point during the night she heard it start to rain outside. It pounded on her cave making a soothing  drum, drum, drum soothing and lulling her to sleep once more. Then Stephanie heard the all to familiar sound that she had heard so many times before. She put her head in her knees, she heard the noise in front of her. Just don't look at it, it'll go away eventually, she thought to herself. She flinched as the purple dust of a telephoning Enderman landed on her arms, giving her goosebumps. I guess this is how I die. NO TREE CHALLENGE attempt one. Done
