"You doing okay Y/N?" I hear my grandfather ask.
"Hm?"
"I ask if you were alright?" he asks.
"Oh yeah. I'm fine." I reply wiping the tears from my eyes.
"That time of the year is coming up."
"I know."
"You seem calm."
"I am."
I may seem calm outside but inside I'm a complete storm of sadness, anger, and despair.
"Alright. Well just let me know if you need anything."
"Of course."
I watch out of the corner of my eye as he stands up and walks up the porch. When I hear the door close behind him I burst into tears, dropping my head into my hands as I proceed to cry my eyes out.
After some time of silently crying I sit up and use my sleeve to wipe my eyes. I grab the volleyball I always have on the porch and decide to head to the park.Kenma POV
I can't believe Kuroo dragged me to the park, but not only that he took away my Switch then he abandoned me for Y/N's friend Osa who happened to be here as well. I sit down on a nearby bench by a river when I hear muffled sobs along with some sounds that sound like they're throwing something. Deciding I have nothing better to do with my time I head over to see if they're okay. I freeze when I see the familiar head of H/C hair. I watch as she picks up a rock and throws it as hard as she can against a tree earning a loud thwack, I watch as some of the bark falls off then avert my gaze back to Y/N as she falls onto her knees looks at the sky and lets out an anguished wail.
"Y/N?"
She tenses up and slowly looks over at me, tears still streaming down her face.
"K-Kenma?" she asks, her voice still laced with sadness.
"Hi," I say waving awkwardly.
I watch as she hastily wipes her face.
"What're you doing here?"
"Last time I checked this was a public park." I point out, "But are you okay?"
"Yeah. I'm fine."
"You're clearly not," I say, raising a brow.
"What makes you say that?"
"That tree you just killed," I say pointing over at the tree that now has a small hole in it.
"Oh yeah."
"You know it's okay to be sad. There's no need to be ashamed about it."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean everyone gets sad," I say sitting down next to her "Everyone cries, everyone has their moments it doesn't make you weak or stupid if anything it makes you strong."
She just looks at me with her head slightly cocked to the side.
"Come here." I sigh, wrapping my arms around her frame that at the moment seems so fragile.
She tenses up. I never thought I'd see the day that Y/N was fragile, she was always strong and confident.
"Let it all out."
"Are you sure?'
"I'm positive."
"I'll ruin your jacket."
"I have others."
"But-"
"I don't care. You can't hold this in, everything else is replaceable, everything except for your wellbeing. I'm not going to ask what's wrong but I am going to be there when you need it" I say looking at her directly in her E/C eyes that are already shining from tears.
She clings onto me as she begins to cry into my shoulder, I feel her hands ball into fists as she clutches my jacket. She lets out loud sobs and wails as I hug her close.Y/N POV
It's so warm. He's so warm. I want to stay here forever.Kenma POV
It's hard to hear through her tears but I think I hear a muffled "Thank you".(Couple hours later)
"I'm doing better now. Thank you Kenma-Kun." Y/N says.
I simply nod and put my jacket around her shoulders pulling her close for the warmth.
"I should head home. Nekomata will worry. Thank you again." she says before kissing me on the cheek.
I feel my eyes widen.
"Cya," she says flashing me a smile.
Not her normal smile though, this one is different it's genuine yes but she really seems happy despite all of her tears.
"Yeah. Cya." I reply quietly.Later when I'm walking home I try to forget how each one of her wails and cries broke my heart a little each time.
