Chapter 8- The Talk

I was in the livingroom thinking of new songs. Had my song book and pen just sitting in the quiet. Ralph was out at the studio working on his new album. I hear the house phone ring. I got up to answer. 

Me: Hello

?: Hey baby girl

Me: Hey Ma! How you been

Mom: I been doing well.  Especially with this new house hun. I love it so much, thank you so much hun

Me: *laughs* No problem mom.  Glad you love it

Mom: so anything new

Me: Just tryna work on my 2nd album. Tanya had her baby last month. Named her Shi. She's really adorable. 

Mom: oh my gosh, that's so cute. Shi. I love it. What about you and Ralph.  You been together for quite some time, what's that almost 4 years now. You guys ain't thinking about marriage or kids?

Me: I'm actually Pregnant now mommy. Me and Ralph found out last month.

Mom: and you just now telling me. Congratulations baby! I'm so proud of you. My baby girl is a pop/ R&B star! Who's now Pregnant.  I'm gonna be a
Grandma!

I laughed at my mom. She was so hype. I told her I had to go when Ralph walked in. "Hey, how was the studio" I asked. "It was good. Just finished 'Rated R', I know that one gonna be a hit" He says. "Rated R for Ralph Tresvant, Rated R for Rizz, Rated R for Rizzo" I rap acting like I was him. He laughed at me. "This rhythm is Rated R" I said standing up. He came to me and pulled me for a kiss. "Oh yes it is" He says. "How's my other baby" He asked putting his hand on my stomach. "I'm only 2 months Ralph, but I'm sure our baby is ok" I said. He nodded. "Let me guess, you're hungry"I said. He gave my puppy eyes and nodded. I went straight to the kitchen. I made us some homemade pizza.

"How's your songs going" He asked. "Harder than before, it's like I cant think of anything. I let all my feelings out on the first album" I said taking a bite of my slice.  I heard a knock on the door. "I got it" Ralph says. Few seconds later he walked in the kitchen with Mike, Tanya and Shi. "Hey you guys. Didn't know you was coming today"I said standing to hug them. "Hi Shi" I said playing with her tiny fingers. "We just wanted to stop by especially since we was passing by" Tanya says. "Plus I miss your food" Mike said. "Excuse me what's wrong with my cooking" Tanya says. "It's good, but Dayna has that different style of cooking " Mike says then smiled at the end. I covered my mouth to not laugh. "Fuck you Bivins" Tanya says. Mike laughed and sat down. I grabbed 3 slices of pizza, 2 for Mike and 1 for Tanya. Tanya sat down with Shi. "She really does look like you T" Ralph says. Tanya smiled. "But she has Mike big ass head" Ralph said. Mike pushed Ralph.  "Dont be cursing around my lil girl man" Mike says laughing at the head joke.

We ate dinner and had a talk. "You excited to become a mother yourself" Tanya asked. "Yea of course. Just...me and Ralph been arguing a lot more often. I think we been spending too much time together. Like, every week 2-4 times there's always an argument. We starting to argue over small things now Tanya" I said to her. Mike and Ralph was in the livingroom talking about his album. "So take a break, Ralph almost done with his album right" She asked. I nodded. "I'm sure his manager gonna find some tour dates for him cause fuck it's Ralph Tresvant. He gonna be sold out. So him being away and you doing your album. That can be like you guys break" She says. "Right" I said. "Good luck, he's very sensitive" Tanya says rocking Shi. "Who's sensitive" Mike says as him and Ralph walked in.
"Ralph" Tanya says straight up. "I ain't that sensitive" He says. "Yea you kinda are" Tanya says giving him a look. "Babe you think im-" Ralph says but I cut him off. "Yes" I Said nodding at him. "Well thats what you need. A man with sensitivity" He says wrapping his arms around me. "Hey think I figured out my next song" Ralph says letting go of me then rushing to get his book. I rolled my eyes.

"Anyway we should be getting home, thanks for dinner D" Mike says taking Shi. "Yea, thanks sis" Tanya says hugging me. "Take it easy ok. I don't want anything happening to my little nephew or niece" Tanya says. I smiled. "Ok" I said. I walked them out. "Goodnight Shi" I said holding to Shi hand. She just looked at me then closed her eyes. "Night Mike, Night Tanya"I said. They said Goodnight back and left. I went to the room and saw Ralph on the bed writing in his book. I let out a breath then change into pajamas. I just hope things get better.
