EDIT: I am currently going through all of my old stories and revising them as much as possible, something I did not do in the past. If there are any errors that you notice and that need fixing, it is important that you let me know and I will be very thankful for you suggestions. Thank you.
"Luna! These dishes aren't gonna do themselves!" Mom shouted from downstairs. For reasons unknown, the boys were always too busy to do simple chores like dishes or sweeping, so I always have to do them. Literally, all of them. Dad and Drake were never home. Always out and about. Mom calls it 'guy business'. I simply say boys will be boys.
Sometimes I wish I could join them, going out for hours and not having to do any choirs. living the "easy" life. But its just how it has to be you could say. So I slowly make my way down stairs into the kitchen wondering what terrors await me today.
"Oh don't look so sad, its not as bad as the usual mopping or vacuuming." Mom says, patting my head and quickly walking out with a magazine. Off to have her fun while i'm stuck with the dirty work. I guess that's what step mom's do. Use you to their advantage.
No one has really told me much about my mom, besides that she was always outside and studied wolves. She was very young when she died in the woods. I was told she was attacked when she got too close to a wolf. It howled out to the pack, they came and had her for dinner. But to me that has never made much sense. Wolves are animals to fear humans, not to hunt them as prey. And if my mom did study them, she should of known not to get too close. But dad wont tell me much. Every time I try talking to him about her he seems off, he locks up. I guess i can understand why, he loved her more than I could possibly imagine. I did hear that their bond was so strong no amount of fighting could ever break it. Sometimes I wonder why my dad keeps going, I know how much he misses mom. I just wish he would talk about her a little bit more.
After a few years he married my step mom, who has never been too nice. Always acting sweet to me around dad, but when he is gone, which is a lot, all of "our" work becomes "my" work. With a few things added here and there, this all must be done before my homework according to Cassie. Chores first, School second. I cant object too much, as I hate homework. And she never complains when I get bad grades, says its a sign that I've been really focused on my duties at home.
"Anything else?" I sigh as i dry my hands. She looks around for a moment, then slaps her cup of coffee onto the white carpet. I give her the meanest look i can give, and grab carpet cleaner and a towel angrily as the brown liquid spreads and starts to soak into our just washed carpet. (Which was not very cheap)
"Wow. Your father isn't going to be happy when he sees this stain on his perfect carpet." She says, walking off. She has done many, many things, but for some reason, this one has hit me the hardest. Anger keeps rising as I dab at the brown, and it doesn't come out. My fists clench as i spray the carpet cleaner everywhere. It soon falls from my hand.
"Oh really! You think you can just be with my father for his money? and make my life miserable in that process? That ends today!" The front door opens and dad's footsteps turn into a run.
"I am done! This is bullshit!" I throw the towel down alongside the bottle, looking up at my shocked dad. Calmness comes, but then Cassie comes into view. Its all rage now and I have nothing holding me back. This bitch is gonna get it.
"Who do you think you are talking to me like that young lady? You have no right!" She says angrily. As I open my mouth once more, I catch my dad's eyes caught on mine, watching me closely as my rage goes crazy.
"Who am I? Who are YOU!" My dad pushes Cassie out of the room as i break. My anger snaps. It literally feels as If every single bone in my body is breaking and rearranging themselves in different ways. The pain makes me let out a cry of pain before I feel as though I fall to the floor, but land on front paws. My four legs grow and i become bigger and bigger. My tail held high. My teeth in a snarl. Dad falls back after locking the door.
