"Do you think she'll be gone for good?" I ask Drake, as we watch Cassie angrily slam her car door and speed away with all of her things. Her and dad got in this big argument; about me.I ended up getting in the middle of it, which you would think was very much expected, Drake joining me. Saying how she has been treating us the moment she arrived. Most of the hectic that has happened here that she has blamed on us, was her. We finally got dad to understand and believe us with everything that's been happening. He knew how much his carpet meant to me, and how much that vase did that mom gave him, and that new gun and all of the other things Cassie broke and blamed on me.
The argument was a big one, I nearly phased, but Drake pulled me away into his room just in time. After a few minutes of slamming droors and shouts, the front door slammed and we decided to come out of hiding.
"I hope so, she don't belong here." He states. I nod and walk back inside the house. My dad stands by the window with a frown, fighting back tears.
"This, isn't right." He sighs, closing the curtains angrily.
"Loose your mom to something awful, hope that it didn't pass on to her children, find out it passed to one....loose Cassie....Luna, you must promise me something," He looks me In the eyes. Well, this can't be good, but for his sake I'm going to have to try.
"Don't ever fight any Vampires, no matter how much the pack begs you." He warns. Drake nods his head in agreement, but his ask for a promise has me trying so hard to keep it cool. I've already let him down so much. And he has been through way more than anyone should ever have to go through. Just adding onto the pile.
"I..I can't, I already have." Both dad and Drake give me wide stares. I couldn't possibly tell my dad that I was training for that same position my mom died in, and that there was no way I was getting out of it.
I trained with Luke, the one in charge for now. He showed me a few basics, like how to try and control the phasing, which has worked a little so far. And a few fighting tips, but not much at all. He told me how my mom died. Turns out, she was on a hunt for the worst vampire there is, the oldest. She found him, but he got her first. And she was a very strong fighter too, she just finally found her match.
"You did what?" i sigh and lift the back of my shirt, showing my bruises.
"The first time I met the pack, a vampire came. I didn't run, I fought and got thrown into a tree."
"They made you fight your first time?" Anger rises up in dad.
"I wasn't made to do anything, in fact I got a small lecture for doing so." I try and walk out of the room, but Drake's arm stops me and leads me to sit on the couch. I let out a loud sigh.
"Who is the alpha now?"
"No one yet, they are training one of the wolves for The position though." I wouldn't dare say who.
"Huh. Okay. But you don't go for no more vampires, you hear?"
"Alright, can I go now?"
"Where?"
"I need to train for.....errr....I have to go and train how to control this whole phasing thing... Alpha-in-training's orders. I have to obey, I really must go now." I can't believe how close I came to spilling it. I have to be more careful. One slip and it all ends.
My dad lets out a sigh and tells Drake to let me go. There isn't a training session today, i just really needed to get away from them. Bella, my friend, wants me to be at the park in..oh crap. 5 minutes. My bike won't due. But...the woods do lead right up to the park. i run into the trees and strip, I'll need these clothes at the park, so no ripping them today.
