(A) received an injury that makes it a lot harder to actually use their ability, that even Yosano couldn't fix for whatever reason (like Shinji receiving hearing damage, Genko and eye damage, or Inei and vocal chord damage), so when they get released from whatever place they were put (hospital or (alliance) infirmary), (B) decides to try and train them in other things around the office, to make them still feel useful.
