I could hear Ron speaking as we walked up to platform 9¾, but I wasn't listening. Infact, his voice just seemed to nauseate my brain. Half his words were ineligible due to the chocolate bar he was chowing down, anyway. I was instead watching Malfoy and his mother. They seemed to have a bond I could only wish for. I’ve heard my mother wasla great lady and loved me very much, but it sucks I'll never get to know for sure. I don't know how someone like him got it. My brain thought, He probably doesn't even appreciate it. My thoughts were quickly stopped by an elbow being shoved into my gut.
“OW! What was that for-” Ron quickly slapped a hand over my mouth. “Will you be quiet?”He whisper-shouted at me. He turned his gaze off of me and onto Draco who was hugging his mom with a rather tight grip. “Malfoys getting on the train, we can't go now.” He stopped to give him a glare. He opened his mouth to continue when Hermione cut him off. “If we wait any longer we are going to miss the train!” She took a peek at her watch before looking back at him and complaining. “Merlin, It's already 6:35!” He continued talking and begging her to wait, but I zoned it out. I was, once again, watching the stupid blond boy. At this very moment, he was pushing through people for a compartment. And he wondered why others didn't like him.
I continued thinking about Malfoy for a bit until Ron once again dragged me out of it, this time by tapping my shoulder. “Oi! Harry! We’re getting on the train now, come on.” He continued walking with Hermione just a few feet behind him before I got the chance to respond. I sighed and ran to catch up to them, though I knew this meant I had to find someone random to sit with because of Rons stupid waiting game.
As I hopped onto the train, I immediately noticed that my suspicions were correct and I was stuck with whoever was lonely enough to not have a friend near them. I checked through a few compartments and opened the only one that had one person inside, before realizing who that person was. Malfoy gave me a glare so I put my hands up in defense, “Ginny and Luna were sitting with Ron and Hermione, trust me I don't wanna be with you either.” He sharpened his glare, speaking finally “Are you unaware that there's more than one compartment? Go sit with a random hufflepuff or something.” God, no wonder why there's no one sitting with him, he's unreasonably difficult. I rolled my eyes at him, thinking of what would make him shut up faster. I landed on “Everywhere else is full. I already said I don't want to be here either. I'm not gonna bother you as long as you shut up.” He just stared so I sat down across from him.
I grabbed my bag from beside me and started digging for a book, deciding that if I had to be here with him, zoning into a book would make it slightly more bearable. The Iliad seemed to be the only one to pique my interest so I started trying to find where my bookmark was hidden before I felt somebody looking at me. I looked over the book and saw Malfoy sitting there with a questioning expression. I sighed, dropping the book into my lap to properly look at him before speaking. “Why do you look so surprised, Malfoy?” As I asked, his face changed back to what I assumed to be his resting face-although he still looked bitchy-and questioned me. “Since when have you read, Potter?” I scoffed and turned back to my book. God, this is going to be a long two hours.
I was just to the third book when the train started to get too much to handle. Having my glasses on didn't help any, but I didn't want to take them off and risk them falling and breaking. I had decided on wearing some old glasses in the box me and Ron found of my dad's stuff. We guessed they were his glasses due to the tape on the nose, so I really REALLY didn't want them to break. I instead opted for thinking about my parents while still looking at the book. Apparently I was thinking out loud because Malfoy started to complain again. “Can you stop mumbling over there?” I sighed before closing my book and pulling my legs up.
I decided to look out the window and imagine my mom and dad out there with their friends. I hope they were happy. Sirius and Remus said they were all good friends, though it felt like some of them were a bit more. From the things I've -*/heard, it makes it sounds like Sirius’ brother Regulus was a bit too friendly with my dad. Hermione said she thinks it was Remus and Sirius who were more than good pals, but I don't know if I agree with that. On one hand, Remus was married to Tonks and they had a child together, on the other, the hug the two shared was a bit more than friendly. Maybe they were all gay, I dont know.
