An alarm, birds chirping, some neighbors yelled outside. The three sounds were on a constant loop every morning until a woman with dark pink hair woke up.  She groaned and wanted to get back in bed, but unfortunately, today was the day she dreaded the most.

She had to dress formally, wearing a suit and tie as she refused to wear a dress, and on top of that had to speak formally as well. She needed to take care of her words, being as polite as she could, even though she was used to being friendly and hyper she needed to remain serious and calm.

She wondered how he had even gotten the job, or why she even tried in the first place. To work for the richest woman in Liyue? Sounds like a bore to her.

Sounds like a massive bore.

She was already bored enough, living all alone with nowhere else to go, she lacked friends, a family, and a job. Maybe now she could get all 3?

She left, yet she wasn't in a hurry like anyone else would be, rather she was trying to be as slow as she could to avoid going to work.

Another woman was headed her way, yet she seemed the opposite of Beidou. She was running as fast as she could and she was surprised someone could go at that speed in a dress.

Beidou noticed a taxi headed her way and she called it, not wanting to walk anymore. It led her to her destination and she didn't know if she was happy or sad. Without any second thoughts, she walked in confidently, receiving a few weird stares from other people.

A woman with purple hair noticed her and frantically checked her watch before sighing, looking her up and down and saying:

"Hello, I am Keqing, pleased to meet you. I won't bother to get to know you as I am a busy woman, so please follow me and be as quick as you can. Thank you in advance for your cooperation."

She nodded and followed Keqing to a neat desk. It wasn't a cramped one like in those movies, it was in an actual office. One of the many advantages of working for a rich woman.

"Ganyu will be here in an instant to show you around, in the meantime, you may enjoy some coffee we had prepared just for you, goodbye."

And in a second, the lady was gone. The office she was to work in was simple, yet comfortable. Not many other people were there, making it quiet.

The coffee itself tasted different, like a specific kind you only find in those places where people work.

Beidou heard heels tapping on the smooth marble floor, quickly approaching her as she put down her coffee and took a seat.

A woman with light blue hair opened the door and smiled at her. She seemed worried for whatever reason, and constantly checked her watch and fidgeted with her skirt.

"Hello, I am Ganyu. I'm the assistant of our boss, Lady Ningguang. I'll be showing you around and you will meet her shortly as she is currently attending an important meeting. Please follow me."

She followed her around, not even daring to utter a word. It seemed like the kind of place where talking would bring you nowhere but a bad reputation.

The whole building was pretty simplistic and modern, with the same kind of tiles on each floor.

Finally, on the top floor. There was a large door almost resembling a gate that stood towering over them. It was decorated with gold, and looked very different from the less of the building, resembling the door to a room in a luxurious castle of the 1800s.

The two ladies walked in, Gnayu seeming stressed.

There was no dramatic entrance, it was a rather awkward one.

Once they both stepped in, a woman with silky white hair looked up from the pile of work she had. She smiled and nodded, gesturing for them to come closer and to take a seat. She offered them a sip of tea which Ganyu politely refused.

"So, miss Beidou? I am lady Ningguang, a pleasure to have you work for me.

- Er Uhm yeah uh thank you for uh hiring me!

- Yes, I expect you to do your best as my bodyguard.

-...Excuse me?"

Beidou looked at them both with a quizzical expression.

"Wait then why do I have an office?

- That is simply for whenever you need breaks, as you may have noticed it's rather comfortable compared to our other workers.

- Ooooh ok. But I don't seem to remember signing up for this...? I have no experience lady Ningguang.

- It will be a simple job and I'll pay you 400,000 per week. You'll simply have to keep me safe for some time, and if you fail to succeed, we will find a replacement. Understood?

-...Of course, lady Ningguang."

They both nodded, and Beidou rose from her chair, preparing to leave.

"Oh, and one more thing; you will need to stay with me 24/7.

- Excuse me?! I'll at least get to go home right?

- Quite the opposite, Beidou."

She groaned silently and sat back down, confused at what she was to do now. Should she simply just sit there? Should she stand in front of the door?

"You'll just need to keep me company, so you may do as you please as long as I remain in your sigh and you in mine.

- Lovely. But where will I sleep?

- I have a room prepared for you, don't worry. You're all set.

- Great. So I assume you have work? I'll just stop talking."

Ninguang nodded at her but didn't seem annoyed at all, she seemed rather amused. They both sat quietly, the tapping of the keyboard interrupting the infernal silence. Beidou began to grow bored and stood up, looking at the window.

The view was nice, the cars passing by one by one under her.

She chuckled to herself then looked back at Ningguang, hoping to not have disturbed her, only to find her absorbed into her work.

She sighed.
